actually if you look at your webm, Ronda did get the trip, she went with the forward throw tai otoshi Holly hip checked and blocked it from going forward, but as you see Ronda laces her leg for an ouchi gari and gets the back throw/trip
Holly is the aggressor with the scramble though and gets turtle, Ronda catches up and starts her juji gatame offensive set, Holly blocks this though.

I'll say this as an instructor, even though if one throw gets block, as long as you chain or combo the throw, it will count to the ref, and higher ups as one continuous throw. which is why chain grappling, chain throwing is so important and the sign of a competent grappler
a lot of beginners think, oh if i sprawl or block a grapple they're screwed, a good grappler like Ronda or Maia will continously chain and link their moves together so if the first link doesnt hit the 2nd, the more links you can combine into your grapple the better, if you see the original

Frankie, TJ, well almost all the American wrestlers shoot their best from the open away from walls. Complete upset of what Maia and a bunch of other Brazlians have been doing and using the cage ways to complete theirs.
Its funny cause you'll always see the smaller american guys, use the wall to defend a shot, but the brazilians will actually prefer to start or finish their shots against or near the walls as an aide. There are few exceptions but that generalizations is noticeable for the last few years

I'm a judo nidan/HS wrestling coach so i got a slew of moves in my back pocket that i know how to do, but in terms of when i compete i stick to my go to's. I see some people poo pooing on being a one trick pony, wither its being a leg lock specalist, or armbar, but if you train, you have to admire and infact you wanna learn from those people because they can get a set of moves and are able to impose their will and hit that move from all sorts of set ups.
In judo they call it tokui waza (speciality techniques) and they're your go to.
For me i have my drop seoi nage which is my bread and butter and tai otoshi. For my ground work i enjoy juji gatame an kata gatame. I can teach and explain most of the moves . In terms of my own personal growth i like to get good at the mongolian lift and on the ground ive been working on the 50/50 guard with some of the guest BJJ players that come into my gym
