Technically it's twice. They lost a game to the Rays at the beginning of a season on a Bautista slide (which was probably the correct call, considering Jose stuck his arm out as he slid). As shocking as it is, especially on the internet, my hatred of the slide rule extends past my cheering for the Jays. I'll gladly point out when the Yanks or Red Sox get fucked over by the same thing.

It reminds me of the crease rule back in the late 90s where goals would be called back if a player's skate was in the crease when it was scored. And then Hull goes and scores the Cup winning goal in overtime on this very play and the league does nothing so they ended up rescinding the rule and have Kerry Fraser come out with some post-hoc explanation on how Hull had possession before his skate was in the crease so the goal should count which does nothing but infuriate the fans. Luckily, Kerry Fraser was smart enough that he never reached out again, years after the event, to admit he made a mistake and apologize for not kicking out Wayne Gretzky because he didn't want to be the ref known for kicking out Wayne fucking Gretzky from a playoff game that was tied late in the third and possibly going to overtime.
