I'm moving to Germany for two years on July 6th. I've always enjoyed watching soccer more than other sports in the times I have but never really get into watching a whole lot of sports in general. Also, I suck at soccer.

Lad, what city are you moving to? There's tons of clubs there, alot of their fans seem to be passionate. But i'm sure locals can accept you with open arms

Sprich Deutsch. Die meisten Deutschen - vor allem junge - werden dir zwar auf Englisch antworten, aber das schindet Eindruck bei uns. Abr wenn du in ein Land kommst, dessen Sprache du nicht sprichst, solltest du eh so schnell wie möglich wieder raus.
Deutschland hat in seiner Geschichte wahnsinnig viel erlebt. Praktisch jede Weltmeisterschaft brachte andere Geschichten hervor. Selbst die zwei, an denen wir nicht teilnahmen - und wirklich nur nicht teilnahmen. Qualifiziert haben wir uns immer. Deshalb sind Deutschen alle Qualifikationsspiele ziemlich egal, sie werden als Unterbrechung des Ligenrhythmus nur widerwillig zur Kenntnis genommen, aber niemand interessiert sich für sie. Und Freundschaftsspiele sind eher ein Gerücht, ich persönlich weiß meistens - wenn überhaupt - erst Tage später, dass Deutschland Freundschaftsspiele gespielt hat.
Es gibt einfach zu viele Geschichten um die Nationalmannschaft herum, als dass man sie alle erklären könnte, mach es lieber wie >>68486189 es dir vorschlägt und gehe zu dem nächstgelegenen lokalen Fußballverein, stell dich in den Block und versuch mit den Leuten ins Gespräch zu kommen. Und lern lieber ein wenig was über diesen Verein. Die Vereine haben nämlich meist eine noch längere und ausgiebigere Geschichte, die nicht nur alle zwei Jahre wichtig ist, sondern immer.
