how the fuck do Brazilians know which player are they talking about? They only call them for their first name, so there are like a gorillion of Romarios, Luises, Davides etc. You should start calling them for their last names
Imagine if this happened in Argentina for example. We would have like dozens of players who are named just "Sergio", or Diego, or Juan or whatever. It'd be impossible to know who we are talking about.
