I hate Klinns a fucking lot, and think the us as a whole would be better off.
But, he has had an excellent CopaAmerica. His team selection largely makes sense, with the odd idiosyncratic players that every us manager has included based on favoritism (Ricardo Clark, Tony Sanneh)
His subs largely have made sense and tactically the squad has been better.

He's trying to get far enough in the tournament to keep his job, not babysit fucking youth prospects. You can't have it both ways. If you want him to develop youth you have to be ok with struggling for a few years, but US Soccer is clearly not ready to accept that, so Klinsmann will continue to scrape together the most competitive sides he can for the big tournaments.
