Well you should definitely push yourself to try and make the 1st XV. When I was 16 I got pretty lazy and was dropped to the schools 2nd XV after my 1st match. It didn't feel good. So I started training harder and made myself into a better player and I was captain of the 1st XV in my final year and was offered a bursary to play rugby at a decent rugby uni in England. You really should work hard to be the best you can be. Just look at Matt Healy he was still playing for Lansdowne a couple of years ago and now he's in the Ireland squad. Train hard over summer and you'll reap the benefits in the coming season.

>>Eng vs Aus 2nd half
Wallabies were trailing 7 points with 6 minutes to go and had the penalty. Instead of kicking for the corner to try and draw with a converted try they opted for goal to use the remaining time to win.

Things didn't go their way, it was instead England who scored a try in the dying minutes to stretch the win margin. Though I can't bring myself to fault Aussies for their ambition.

>>SA vs Ireland
People say SA vs Japan last year was a humiliating defeat. I disagree. THIS was a humiliating defeat. Ireland lost a man to red card since the 30th minute and even had to play with 13 at one point with a yellow card. And yet SA still couldn't win. The Irish were playing superbly of course, but a team of Springboks incapable of puting a 14-man Irish team away is vexing.

Agreed

12. BARRETT (yes Barrett, dont care how good an impact player he is the guy is world class in a black jersey)
I'd like to see Barrett stay on the bench and try Soap at 12. Maybe it will work, maybe it won't. But Soap is a great player and you potentially get the best of both worlds by having Cruden kick ass at 10 and have Soap, the best goal kicker in NZ, kick all the goals.

Then you can have Barrett still fuck shit up off the bench.

Memekenzie's talents are wasted at 10 and FB and should be put in the wing.

Discuss.
>>
>>68358360
I rate Barretts defense over Soap. Barrett has the gamebreaking ability, the pace, the distribution. He's like a classic 12 and isnt exactly a small player. Will be much better than Crotty in any case.
>>
>>68358437
McKenzie can fulfill a wing's job, but his real value is in creating attack momentum rather than a finisher
>>
>>68358544
I agree with this
I also don't think he is quite there as a fully developed player. I hope his short stint in the black jersey doesn't go to his head when he returns to the Chiefs camp
>>68358467
I agree with this. Barrett will shine in that position and his playstyle does fit well in there
>>
glad to see the barrett @ 12 meme is catching on

I am also of the opinion that the ball sacks should literally just fill the two back spots in the bench with meme utility backs. Barrett at 22, McKenzie 23. Shove them on for literally anyone and shuffle the fuck out of the backline. Full memes.
>>
>>68359037

He's played there a fair bit for the Ospreys and is by all accounts better at it than Anscombe. I put Evans starting because he offers a bit more grunt. I'd take him off at half time for Jenkins, the one thing we need I think is a more dynamic bench.

Lots of exciting players there but most of them have never played together. Walker and James will be looking to get North's jersey now he's injured. What does the Chiefs team look like?

Thats actually a pretty good Chiefs backline considering all the players theyre missing

For the uninitiated, a lot of people wanted Lowe in the All Blacks ahead of Mckenzie and Savea. Usually a winger but he definitely has the skills for fullback. If Savea keeps up his shit form then Lowe should get a cap or two.

I rate Bird, Graham and Sanders in the forwards but Wales definitely have the edge here. Dont underestimate the backs see>>68361471
>>
>>68361501
I agree, but I think that Wales actually stumbled on a very well balanced XV. We have a big pack with plenty grunt and good breakdown ability in Jenkins, and a very exciting backline. The big question is defence in wide channels and under high balls. Donald might well try to exploit Morgan as a weak link and drop bombs on him
>>
>>68361640
They'll test every defensive weakness in your backline and the Chiefs are one of the few sides that can beat teams even when getting dicked up front. Counter attack is the best in super rugby.
>>
>>68361778
Yep. The Chiefs attack is mental, in the few Chiefs games I've seen this season they can make tries out of literally nothing. Given that Morgan (not Tyler) shits himself defensively we're going to need to hold onto the ball an awful lot.
>>
>>68361927
Should be a cracking little barbarian style game. Webber will be a handful, has a point to prove
>>
>>68361338
That's a solid backline with firepower to cut through the Wales defence. Whether the Chiefs will get to brag will be up to their forwards

like for like swap for Poocuck. And no matter how mad it makes /rug/, Pooper just keeps performing so he can't be dropped. But he also isn't a fetcher and if >we don't play Gill England will dominate the breakdowns

There is only one good Australian le big ball carrying 8 (Jed Holloway) and he is injured. No point playing Palu or McCalman, they are Robshaw-tier meh

to be fair, he is most likely on some form of drug, steroid or not.

There must be a few loop-holes in the leagues prohibited drug usage rules. There are some rules in our NCAA that allows certain drug usage, but the school themselves cannot supply the drugs to the students.

You are now all aware that the WADA's first president's name was Dick Pound
>>
>>68369197
>There must be a few loop-holes in the leagues prohibited drug usage rules
it's managed by the individual unions
there's a reason the only roid busts in rugby are against lower-league journeymen who use them to get wedged rather than for performance enhancing purposes. They do get tested at big tournaments, but AFAIK any random testing is not actually random at all and coaches have been known to help players get around it.
A notable example would be a certain English back row with great banter who took a break from his premiership academy when the testers were in

Because there are better players in those positions for the lions. Putting Jackson ahead of Sexton or Biggar based on one game is retarded for example.

Sexton is generally consistent in his level of performance, but he's become very injury-prone and rarely dominates a game like he used to.

Having just watched the Boks Ireland game I wouldn't make any Lions team decisions based off it. It was a gutsy, scrappy performance but not a controlling, dominating one. It was the worst Boks side on paper in years which looked terribly coached. An All Blacks tour will be a completely different beast.
>>
>>68380268
>but not a controlling, dominating one
It would have been had Ireland not been reduced to 14 men.
>>
>>68380975
well then theyll prove it next test
>>
>>68381066
Ireland were dominating for the first 20+ minutes, at least. And there's no telling if SA will make mistakes at the same frequency next test. We saw how they bounced back after losing against Japan.

Well, there's only one way to tell, isn't there.

Just pointing out some facts buddy. No need to get upset.
From your logic Japan is better than SA because last time they faced Japan won. That is obviously a retarded stance to take. The results at the end of the tour will settle it not the first meeting of the squads.
Also 50% of the NH sides won so SH=NH from what you are saying
