>Ameriburger "athletes" in charge of earning more than Ronaldo or Messi

Fugg

had to omit all the baseball players just to give them a fair chance, kek.
>>
federer is such a mountain jew
>>
#12 Tiger Woods $45.3 M
#21 Rafael Nadal $37.5 M
#24 Fernando Alonso $36.5 M
#49 Wayne Rooney $26.1 M

I don't even...
>>
>>68220144
Half the companies he endorses are Swiss too. Lindt, Sunrise, CS, Rolex, Jura.
>>
>>68220171
Roger Federer is a meme too

guy is ancient at this point
>>
>Kevin Durant

What. How , he's probably the 3rd best basketball player at best.
>>
>>68220142

This highest-ranked baseball player is in the 33rd place
>>
why messi and ronaldo are so far behind for endorsement?
>>
>>68220222
yea wondering this too.

Soccer/football is a world sport and the whole world knows Messi and Ronaldo. How come they do so few endorsements.

>>68220105
NBA will dominate this list once capspaces go up soon
>>
>>68220272
>Soccer/football is a world sport
That's sort of part of the problem. When a good portion of your fanbase comes from Africa or Asia, you can't really sell them luxury goods. Which means you're not going to get the big endorsement cheques luxury goods get you.
>>
>>68220221
i thought it was overall salary not yearly. even so, your list is out of date if Kershaw is the highest.
>>
But basketball players don't have to play year-round.

It's Forbes' 2016 ranking

NBA players get tons of endorsement money because of their shoe deals. Lebron's shoes literally make $200 million per year for Nike, so naturally they give him a lot of money. With soccer, it's harder to sell gear because people don't wear it as often in daily life. Kids go to school wearing Jordans or Lebrons, but nobody is going to go to school wearing Messis.
>>
>>68220402
still doesn't make sense since Greinke makes more than everybody who is below Kershaw. maybe Forbes should stick to finance.
>>
>>68220453
>but nobody is going to go to school wearing Messis.
isnt this something that Nike can fix?
>>
>>68220105

Where's Floyd Gayfeather (I call him that because is suspect he's a homosexual male)?
>>
>>68220518

No. Partially because Messi's shoes have spikes on them, meaning that you can't wear them unless you're playing soccer, but mainly because Messi is sponsored by Adidas. Nike is trying something like this with Neymar, though, they just released "Neymar" basketball shoes.
>>
>>68220518

>going to school with cleats on
>>
>>68220222

American 'sport' is basically just an advert. Why do you think their 'sport' is so irrelevant everywhere.
>>
>>68220112
But Messi doesn't pay taxes so he is actually richer :^)
>>
>>68220475
You have intimate knowledge of the athlete's endorsements?
>>
>>68220580
in annual pay Greinke is tied with Kershaw so he should be right behind him. Forbes doesn't know shit.
>>
>The best player in the most popular sport also makes the most money

How strange
>>
Baseball players are cancer. If pay was equal to athletic output they should probably be making maybe 15 bucks an hour

Also does this article account for all those taxes Messi avoids?
>>
>>68220545
>>68220555
ofcourse they would have to design special shoes without spikes that are just for normal wear.
neymar basketbalshoes wtf are they thinking

>>68220105

Kevin Durant is criminally overpaid >>68220112

This can't be right, where is Gimi?
>>
>>68222370
Philippinos probably do, they're into basketball. Which is odd for a country of manlets.
>>
amazing how a american, who only plays in the US and is unknown to foreign markets, can make as much as a worldwide superstar. just goes to show how great and dominant our country is in sport.
>>
>>68222370
he was MVP (sort of like Ballon d'Or winner of the NBA) a couple of years ago.
>>
They get more endorsements though

When I was in highschool kids actually went to class wearing indoor football shoes, I don't know why that stopped

>neymar basketbalshoes wtf are they thinking

Dunno, but apparently Neymar is now signed with the Jordan brand, and they released "Neymar Jordans" for the Copa America.
>>
>>68220222
Every fart and breath American 'athletes' do is sponsored.
>>
>>68222785
>implying that European athletes are any different

Ronaldo endorsed a Japanese ball gag for christ's sake
