It's simultaneously the best and worst part of the game, it's cringey and annoying as fuck but some people find it cringey in that funny way. It only last for about 15 games though and it doesn't matter to the overall career so you can just skip all the cutscenes and continue with your career as normal.

is there any counter to players dribbling the ball into you over and over trying to beat you off the dribble? In real life this leads to way more fucking turnovers than it does on 2K.

idk I've always found most sports gameplay to be pretty shit. It feels too stiff, and it doesn't really accurately capture the nuances of the real thing, which is not really possible when you gotta map all movements to ~10 buttons. Even back on the 2k games when i eventually got bored of playing the main game I kept playing the sim modes even if they are pretty bare bones. Idk maybe im just autistic

I also just started playing 2k like last week, and after years of playing these shitty Madden titles, when I first started playing 2k, I was like "holy shit I entered the Matrix". The presentation, the graphics, the crowd, the atomosphere, the gameplay, everything is so great compared to Madden, and it's no wonder EA locked down the NFL license because if they didn't Madden would be in the same light as NBA Live right now.
Obviously the game isn't perfect, but it's seriously fucking amazing, just play it, don't ask, play.
And another thing, I thought that having a story in a sports game was something I never thought about, but after seeing it with my own eyes, I wanna see more of it, it was a very good first attempt at a sports game story
