Everton are an infinitely bigger club than Southampton. Soton is a footballing backwater. Tiny stadium that they can't even fill, it's a shame because Koeman has done so well but clubs that small are never going to progress beyond where they are now.

No it isn't. It's a great stadium and has one of the best atmospheres in the league, I've been plenty of times myself. It's a shame old grounds like that will soon be dead.

The mayor of Liverpool recently said Everton would have a new stadium within three years anyway, maybe that's part of the attraction to Koeman. Looks like Everton have a big plan to develop, Soton mustn't have that ambition.

It only took so long for them because they wanted to re-develop Anfield and had to buy all the houses of people who lived next to it.

Everton's new stadium has taken far longer, but I don't see why the Mayor would risk making himself look like a retard by saying they'll have it within three years. He even said they have the funds to do it and have to decide between one of two sites.

Looks like it might finally be happening. Speculation anyway, I'm just saying it might be why Koeman is interested, if they can show him how they're going to spend big money to push the club forward with transfers and a new ground.

Seems very unlikely m8, don't see how they could do just as bad. Their problems were entirely managerial and bad coaching. This is the exact same personnel who finished with 72 points, now barely managing 50 points in 11th.

Just shitting coaching and awful tactics, playing football that didn't suit the players because of 'muh philosophy' and refusing to commit to any basic defending because of 'muh philosophy.'

Koeman takes that same group of players and brings in a good mix of attacking and pragmatism and they'll do fine.

Newcastle have spent far more money than Everton and have a way bigger wage bill. Money isn't everything, it's how you spend it. They spent it on shit and paid them too much with no plan for decent team cohesion.

Everton dont need huge transfers anyway, a few players to replace the old ones leaving is all. Assuming they keep what they have, that is.

Stones is a meme, the press are obsessed with him because they all got made to look like cunts last season saying he would definitely leave and then he didn't. Rather than just take the hit and say they were wrong they continue it forever, "his desire to leave has been delayed by a year, he continues to be linked with 62 clubs."

He was dropped for most of last season. Why the fuck Pep would want to sign him is beyond me, just seems like journo bullshit.

Why are they selling Stones and Lukaku? Why is selling Stones so bad when he was dropped for most of the season?

Are they selling Lukaku and Stones because the Mirror says they are? Because they said Stones was nailed on to leave last season and even reported he'd agreed terms, it was all bullshit.

Even if they did sell them, that's another 100 million to spend.

Lukaku scored 3 goals in 2016. The notion that he's irreplaceable is just silly.

>>
>>68093853

It was bullshit that he was leaving, because he didn't. Papers talk utter shit in the transfer window. You forget that clubs own these players and if they aren't willing to sell them, they don't have to.

Stone isn't worth the kind of money that allows him to force a move. If Everton don't want to sell, he stays. They rejected 40 million from Chelsea. There's no reason that would now change, and who is seriously going to offer more than that?

But like I said, even if they did he was literally dropped for most of the season. He might be promising but if he's destined to leave anyway like you seem to insist, then it's not the end of the world. They've already shown he isn't essential by having him benched most of the season.

Oh my god you retard, the fact that he did not leave is fairly damming evidence that the Mirror saying he was DEFINITELY LEAVING was not true. They said he had already agreed terms. This was clearly not true. It took until almost the end of the transfer window for him to finally hand in a transfer request, and he was promptly told no and that was that.

The papers were chatting shit. They also said Mirallas and McCarthy were nailed on to leave. Neither of them did.

Look at De Gea linked to Madrid every week. Hasn't left, just said he isn't. Same with Hazard.

Just because papers say a player is linked with another club doesn't mean it'll actually happen dipshit.

This is what I'm saying you silly cunt. He's not that good as the press hyped him up to be. He was dropped for making so many amateur mistakes and single handedly conceding inexcusable goals.

So if the papers are right and a club wants to pay 50 million+ for a player that isn't even good enough to start for Everton, it wont be a huge loss.

But I don't see why that would happen. There's no reason to think Everton's stance on selling him has changed, and there's no reason to think any big club wants to pay huge money for him after he's had such a bad season.

But either way it's win win. Everton keep a player who showed potential and might get better if he can improve the shitty side of his game, or they make huge money selling a player that wasn't essential anyway.

>>68093761
it's a bit more complicated and laporta also had his problems too. I think the club needs a refresh but last elections a year ago showed the quality of most other candidates' projects was still too weak. Even Laporta looked completely out of if, with an incredibly vague campaign, bringing in Abidal, with no future plan other than 'signing pogba', etc.

Every other candidate literally had a perfect chance a year ago, right when the team was at its worst (after anoeta defeat in january), with all the legal harassment, coming after a trophy less season, after the 3-1 defeat at bernabeu, after kicking out martino, after the masia sanction, etc yet they weren't able to convince the majority.

If Laporta had bothered in showing a solid project instead of memeing around he would have had a chance, but he came completely unprepared and didn't bother to get up to speed. He didn't give a shit

Lots of noise in tweeter/online doesn't represent the core of the paying membership. They want a project and a winning team and so far they think they have it and don't want to shake things much because, unlike many of the internet angry fans, paying members remember the completely shit seasons not that long ago. They were the ones supporting the club and going to the stadium back then

I haven't mentioned Everton having money at all, that's all you you daft cunt.

I also didn't say he wont leave, merely that he didn't last season in spite of all the shit the papers said, and even if he did this season they'd be getting good money for a player that spent most of last season benched. Win win.

They could have got 40 million for him last season and said no. The only reason they would u-turn on that now is if they think he's so shit that 40 million is now a reasonable proposition.

But I don't think he's that shit and the general belief that Everton is probably that he could be great if managed by a better coach than Martinez.

Will Mou get his career going again or just flog him to some mid-tier Champions League team for £10mill?

He was one of our best players under >Moyes but was never given a chance by LVG who just seemed to hate certain players (see Rafael and Valdes).
