I don't get the Zidane hype. I never did. I've only ever seen 3 full games during his time at Juve, but he didn't do a whole lot. He was just one of many playmakers who rarely made any play. Explains why Juve fans rate every other major player they had during that era ahead of him.
Figo outperformed him in almost every game at Real, getting more goals and as many assists in roughly the same amount of games, while not even playing in Zidane's "free role". He wasn't even Real's first choice, Totti was.
The only time he has ever put in good performances for longer than 90 minutes was the 98' world cup.
