The problem is if KD bails and Westbrick does as well, they'll never get the chance and their solid front office will be a double edges sword in that they'll be too well run to ever get into the lottery to get another star player, and also not have the allure to recruit top talent.

I do get the sense that a lot of KD's decision making is going to come down to his perception of their coaching ability and organizational nous. So, if Donovan is as good as you think, I'd feel a lot more sanguine about him re-signing there. But it's hard to say.
I think they do need to do more to get better surrounding players, besides just big men, but I also agree that's not really the issue this series. But you can't rely on Roberson and Waiters playing out of their skin every year.

They could get better on the wing, but we've seen throughout the playoffs that there's enough in the paint and on the wing right now to get the job done.
They've won these games despite KD and Russ shooting volume at poor percentages, but they'll get through if they actually look for their teammates in the paint and on PnR, whereas now it's a formality screen to jump shot, no mixing it up. It's proto iso ball and too predictable.
I get it, shooters shoot even when they're missing cause it's always the next shot. But shit, pass, or better yet, just don't turn the ball over and you win easily. That's why KD is a joke, because he chokes not only on shots late, even worse, turns the ball over. As does Russ, with his 4 TO in final 2 minutes. Embarrassing
