agree he looked great today but he's never been able to string it together consistently
>>67887605
If he can beat Kei I will believe in him, but I don't think it will happen, though 5 sets and the French crowd could make is possible, provided Gasquet doesn't blow up mentally, I was worried he would choke the 2nd set against Kyrgios but he held on and won it

Hello lads, currently working at Roland-Garros, ask me anything ;)
Here is the schedule for tomorrow : http://www.club.fft.fr/_adc/services/resprog/pdf/Day_14_OOP_Saturday_28.05.16_20160527204339.pdf
Men single draw : http://www.club.fft.fr/_adc/services/resprog/pdf/Men_s_Singles_20160527204339.pdf

>>67891224
What lid
>>67891348
nothing m8, strongly agree is all
>>67891307
are you a qt ball grill?
>>67891449
Nah I work in the offices of the french tennis federation, but you should see the hostesses and outlets staffs, tons of qt grills all day long, those are worth the ticket
>>67891487
Do you contact with players?
>>67891487
Are you the arab french? What is your job? Do you have the chance to speak with any relevant player?
>>67891568
have contact*
>>67891568
>>67891582
I'm totally french, and unfortunately I can't really meet the players, unless they come in our office.
Players have a separate lounge and the access is highly restricted, only a very few people can actually meet them.
I'm in charge of TV channels informations (logistics, informations, web platforms), so I can maybe get some sneak peeks of the interview rooms, but I never tried. At least I can access most of the courts (on the best seats) as much as I can, makes my lunch break much more enjoyable !
>>67891307
how do the players deal with not knowing exactly when their match starts?
are they practicing or chilling in a waiting area?
are they together or alone and focused?
is it like the olympic village where if they are knocked out they stay around and start fucking amongst the athletes?
>>67891659
what do you do for the other 50 weeks of the year?
>>67891659
is it a part time job where when the slam isn't on you don't go there every day? obviously with like a lot of preparation leading up to the slam
what happens after the slam like there has to be a big period where not much is happening? is the venue being used for other things and this is just the really big one?
>>67891672
The national training center is very close to the stadium, it contains training courts and lounges players can use anytime, we also have other lounges and player only areas.
Most of them practice at least 4 hours per day, I guess the rest of the time is gym, massage and cryobath (I don't remember the name).
And about knocked out players, I didn't see roger federer around so I guess they go straight back to training for the next tournaments to come
>>67891692
>>67891721
The stadium is indeed empty for the rest of the year, which is a shame, I admit it.
But we also prepare other tournaments, like BNP Paribas Masters, and many other minor tournaments (ATP 500, 250, etc) in France, also Davis and Fed Cup.
So this is a full time job, Roland-Garros takes at least 7 months to be prepared, so between the grand slam and the BNPPM, it never really stops
>tfw functional and responsible adults post in this literal thread
>>67891746
that's a nice amount of time, easy to forget they play like every day
>>67891799
i like that a lot, if it was only temporary i imagine things would be much more difficult both for the people employed but also for when you need to work towards making an event happen, now you can have these teams with people who all know each other and have a lot of job security
sounds comfy man don't fuck it up
>>67891836
Well actually I'm just an intern (still a student) and my job ends in the end of june ;)
But yeah tennis events happen all year long and it's the federation's job to support that, and it's going quite well for now, some people have been working here for more than 27 years and know so many gossips about players and the tennis world in France and abroad, it's always interesting to talk with them when you're somewhat interested in the sport
>>67891914
>and know so many gossips about players and the tennis world in France and abroad
e.g.?
>>67891836
Yeah I could watch them training sometimes, they even play friendly matches to practice, I remember watching nadal vs goffin or berdych vs nishikori, but only for practicing, and it was already going quite hard
>>67891948
For example, Gasquet had the potential to be world #1 but his surroundings were fucked up, not to mention tthe fact he was sleeping in his mother's bed until he was 18 while the father was sleeping on the couch (I never checked that fact desu), or some more basic stuff like Federer is boring as fuck, murray is unbearable, but nadal is a fucking good guy, he knows many people in the offices here, calls them by their first name and so on
>>67892014
Wew.
>>67892028
There are many things I don't remember also, but as anywhere else, you always have gossips about everybody, we even saw Djoko meditating in the national training center, that was impressive, he spent 15 minutes without making a single move, even with many people around him, I like him but he seems so obsessed with performance, must be hard for the family
>>67892089
I sincerely don't buy this meditation crap. How did you get into this job anyway?
>>67892014
Murray is a cool guy. Just don't think it comes across cos of language in France. But his humour is very subtle. Fed is boring as fuck. Kek Gasquet. Inbred and cuck. Nadal is a qt
>>67892128
I mean unbearable when he plays and get angry because he's losing, then he's complaining about everything
>>67892117
Well I'm not into this either, but I guess it's all in the focus a high level players needs to have.
And I just applied on the french federation website, they regularly post job offers when the tournament comes up. They hire dozens (hundreds ?) of people between march and may to work during the tournament, only 345 people work there all year long
>>67892128
But yeah I saw him having fun during practices, but I feel like he gets easily angry and then he hates the entire world and is complaining about everything, but it's just frustration
>>67892014
>tthe fact he was sleeping in his mother's bed until he was 18 while the father was sleeping on the couch
hahahaha holy shit wtf
>>67892014
>he was sleeping in his mother's bed until he was 18 while the father was sleeping on the couch
da fugg
>murray is unbearable
really? He seemed so chill from his Twitter and interviews.
this has given me a good insight about gasquet, no wonder he can't play consistent tennis
>>67892276
yeah but he also has a serious temper and seems like he could go off at any time
>>67892014
>but nadal is a fucking good guy, he knows many people in the offices here, calls them by their first name and so on
NADAL IS OUR GUY
vamos rafa
btw your "job" sounds comfy. wouldn't mind having it

He meant on court he's unbearable.
Rafa out. Might as well give the trophy to Andy.
>>67893758
lol
Who /djokovic/ here?
Tennis may be djokovicwinslol, but the much more interesting contest is between Djokovic and Fedal for the love of the fans.
As an autismo neckbeard, I have to feel for the guy. He thought that if he just wins enough tennis, people will love him as much as they loved Federer or Rafa, so he turned himself into a perfect tennis machine, but it's never enough for them, because being good at something won't make you likeable.
>>67894610
I loved Djoko from 2008-14 now he's king. Gotta support the underdog.
