it's a sport for the unemployed basically. the only people who can go to and watch the games are people who dont have jobs and therefore need something 4+ hours to take up their time and make their life seem useful.
To make it even better the games start around noon so these people can sleep off some of their hangover after a night of depressed drinking. They are usually alcoholics.

I agree but it has some flashy moves, some crazy dribbles similar to crossovers from basketballs, long crazy shots/volleys/scissor kicks etc that even women that never watch football will say "wow" when they see it, similar to some crazy dunks in basketball. Homeruns in baseball seem to be a big deal and fun but that's about it.
