Why do you support the Raiders? Have you lived in Canberra? I'm from Sydney as well but I support the Basedbies because I lived in Canberra as a kid and started supporting them then (also live in Canberra now).

Most of the Basedbies support comes from the ACT obv and rural NSW. Brumbies supporters are shitloads better than Raiders """fans""" who are fairweather as fuck. If you go to a Brumbies game, the support is completely partisan, whereas there are literally as many people at Raiders games supporting the other team as there are supporting the Raiders.

That said the Tards are my 2nd team.

I was checking to see if the Tards of Lelbels could get the 4th wildcard spot. Not a chance kek because the Stormers have the Kangz twice in the last four games. It just isn't fair, that's two free bonus points.

Honestly I don't see how this competition would be any worse if South Africa was kicked out. All they do is fuck it up with timezones, corruption, racial quotas and now format rigging. The few extra shekels (if that is even true, never seen it proven) is in no way worth it

Undecided about Glasgow Connacht I think that game could go either way.

I think Ulster will get the win based on form and the fact that they recently thumped Leinster, but I don't think it'll be as one sided as that game was.

The last 3 includes 2014 when we were fucking class sham so have a re-think there now like a good boy.

Schmidtball itself with the innovations added to the attempted play in the 2016 6N sounds like a decent recipe for beating the Bokke to me.

10. Lambie

Heaslip won't be dropped, also he's criminally under-rated. Toner is our senior lock and line-out operator he won't be dropped either, thick he should be pared with Hendo. Hendo is a good option at 6 though to combat Etzebeth and have Stander at 7 or 8 and Heaslip at 8 or some other combination if SOB is back.

Personally I see 2014 POM and Stander as much-of-a-muchness, but Stander is in form so he should be ahead.

Depends on our own injuries lad. We could get fucked over by them like we did in the 6 Nations.

Like if we're missing certain key players we're half the team we could be. We have partially competent depth but not quality players to fill in in every position especially certain key positions. IMO if SOB hadn't gone off against France we would have won for instance.

It's alright mate

The jags had a big year in the super rugby. They had to adjust to the travel requirements of the competition which isn't easy. They also probably were below the fitness level to play such a high calibre week in and week put. This added with the bad discipline of the players on the field has led to them losing a lot of games they should have won.

On paper at the start of the season they were strong favourites to win but they have let pretty much everyone down in the super rugby.

Hopefully the pumas can pull their socks up when it comes time for international tests
>>
>>67666423

Short answer is:
>we had high hopes

>>
>>67666423
They were never strong favourites to win it, the TAB gave them odds of like 100-1 which was the worst in the competition, even sunwolves were like 80-1.

People from /rug/ betting on the jaguares shows not only reveals them to be complete casuals who fell for the Argentina meme as a result of the world cup, but also highlights the dearth of genuine rugby knowledge of /rug/

>On paper at the start of the season they were strong favourites to win but they have let pretty much everyone down in the super rugby.

wew lad.

That must be why they were rank outsiders.

Memesters thought they would be tournament favourites, anyone with sense knew they would struggle, and that the real improvement is going to be in the Pumas over the next 2-3 years when the players in that team get an opportunity to play together and develop combos week in week out for a number of years.
>>
>>67666975
>>67667060
In their first 4 games they were the favourites to win all but the game v the Sharks. Their losing streak including some huge margins which has put them in the outsiders

To win the competition was always going to be high odds because there are a lot of variables and the theory that super rugby could be too much for them to handle. From memory the wolves were and always have been the worse odds

Things that never happened: the post

Literally only memelords like you thought they could win. I bet you were one of those morons who put a bet on them.
>>
>>67668148
During the world cup when the jags meme first surfaced I looked at the odds on the TAB and the jags were behind the sunwolves (who were also ahead of the kings) some people even found longer odds for the jags on the British sites at like 200-1.

You're right you were wrong to use the word strong but you were wrong to use the word favourites as well, even the blues had a better chance of winning super rugby at the start of the season.

I never even tipped them mate
Pic related pay out is team 1 or 2 wins per $1 bet
Their 4th game was home v Stormers away and they were favourites there too

>>67668444
The jags have never been worse odds than the Sunwolves

I'm certain they were at least in the bottom 3.

There must be an image floating around somewhere of it, because it was posted here more than once, and every pleb was talking about how the odds were outrageous and they were going to put a cheeky fiver on it for them to win the african comp or the whole thing.
>>
Why don't Yuro Rugby teams try to poach League players more?

ARU obviously can't do it by virtue of being bankrupt but NRL players earn chicken feed compared to Yuro Rugby and there's plenty of them who would make good backs.
>>
>>67668667
>and every pleb was talking about how the odds were outrageous and they were going to put a cheeky fiver on it for them to win the african comp or the whole thing.
I remember this too.

>>67668698
It's happened, Leinster poached Ben Te'o who took nearly a year to adapt but adapted eventually pretty well he did.

He's on his way to Worcester now though.
>>
>>67668767

Te'o is shit m8

I'm talking about going after the top talent like the French and English are doing to the Australian Super Rugby clubs.

The irony is the Australian Rugby teams are trying to fill the gap by poaching leaguies so I'm just surprised the Yuros aren't doing the same thing. it wouldn't reap the same immediate results that poaching Union players does but there is more talent in the NRL and it probably wouldn't cost as much to get them.
>>
>>67668608
They literally did have worse odds (I'm talking about winning the entire thing not the odds for individual games) though, admittedly at the time though I'm pretty sure they didn't have any contracted players at the time and so maybe the bookies thought they would pull together a better squad than they eventually did.

Anyhow they did have longer odds than the sunwolves because I remember that surprising me as I thought that a team with a decent chunk or Argentinian internationals would be significantly better than the equivalent with Japanese players.
>>
>>67668824
The trouble is that if you remove a leaguie from Western Sydney they immediately die. They can't exist in an area that doesn't have a Red Rooster within a kilometre.
>>
>>67668976

No wonder Kurtley blew his knee. His mind may have been set on going overseas but his body simply imploded at the prospect.
>>
>>67668826
>They literally did have worse odds
No they didn't mate

Wolves and Kings were both below them, by quite a lot. Kings were at least 200:1 IIRC

Stop pretending you know anything about rugby mate and go back to the shithole you crawled out of.
>>
>>67668698
ARU are so fucking bankrupt its not even funny.

Especially now that NRL teams have 2nd tier contracts that pay as much as a starting Super Rugby player. We used to get NRL stars. Now we get guys that are Q-Cup, or only just scraping their way into the reserves bench in the under 20's.

AFL as well. There average salary is crazy high. Imagine having a Debreczeni or Jesse Mogg (except actually good), booting the ball 60m+ all day.
>>
>>67668824
>Te'o
>shit

pick one.

He won a premiership, played 3 years of finals, and played in 3 years in a row of winning State of Origin teams. Pretty good for 6 years in league.
>>
>>67669072

>be ARU
>host extremely successful World Cup
>popularity of the sport and public interest at all time high
>on par with if not outright beating League
>13 years later get from there to where we are now

How is it even possible to be that incompetent? I sure as fuck hope they enjoyed their Murdoch shekels because they killed the sport to get them. The ARU is somehow even worse than the England Cricket Board.
>>
>>67658222
Is Pietersen injured or something?
>>
>>67669038
I'm not talking shit though, the TAB literally had them worst at the time roughly, some bookies had them at worst odds than that, maybe you looked at different sites or at different times.

Like I said the sunwolves didn't have any contracted players at that time so maybe the bookies thought they would build a stronger team than they thought, hell they didn't even have a name yet (you could bet on the "Japanese super rugby franchise" and their was a footnote saying that if they didn't go ahead, because there was a tiny bit of doubt there, you'd get a refund).

And you criticising anyone's rugby knowledge is fucking hilarious when you literally described them as strong favourites, yeah their season has been disappointing but if you thought they'd even be top 4 you're retarded.
>>
>>67668824
>Te'o is shit m8

Who the fuck am I mate? Are you this much of genius at picking everyone's ""poosting style"" that you instantaneously know that somehow I, four months ago, made a post describing the Argentinian team as being "strong favourites". That's some serious fucking talent there, mate, I'm surprised you don't use it more.

The English and Irish maybe. Wales ran Saffers close and Scotland would have won if not for a bad line out followed by a bs ref decision.

Some Super Rugby guy wants to combine Super Rugby and the pro 12
>>
>>67673214
I'd rather the pro12 did a H cup style tournament with Super rugby teams. Even if they demolished us the first few times, the experience would be invaluable and the level of rugby would be much better than playing with the French and English. Let them have their shite competition.
>>
>>67673228
Yea I just looked into it more. The SANZAAR bosses are apparently thinking about expanding to Europe and then the CEO of the Tahs said they should just combine pro 12 and Super Rugby.

I like the sound of a H cup between SR and pro 12 tho.
