Let's talk Bryan Barberena for a second. His style is not pretty, but he's certainly effective. He looks like the sort of fighter that few people would actively look to fight, he's got a great chin, doesn't crumble under pressure and has good striking and smothering wrestling.

Yes but also keep in mind Nick diaz is arguably a better fighter than Nate diaz in his respective weight division. He definitely has a better record.
His last fight was a NC ("GOAT" was on steroids), the fight before that GSP was on also on roids and also missed weight.
So really his only real loss in the past 8 years was to condit by DECISION. And that GSP "loss" was also by decision.
Diaz trains with professional boxers and has actually one professional boxing match ( and won it) on his record.
Diaz is also a finisher. 21/26 wins by KO or Submission. Keep in mind this is the guy that KO'd lawler.
One problem is that he hasn't been as active in recent years and also 1.5 years off since he was suspended.
Also he's getting old.
If only he remained more active and wasn't supsended, they could've had a great wonderoboy diaz fight a year or two ago.
