He bats left and pulls most of his HRs (many teams employ the shift on him since they don't worry about him hitting opposite field) and Fenway has the shortest distance to the right wall than any park as well as having the shortest right wall in terms of height. So he played in a park that helped him.
I'm a Braves fan so I really have no investment for or against him, but I do think overall his numbers are a bit overrated since he played DH for so long and hit in a friendly park, but he was extremely clutch and played great in the playoffs. So if you come up successful in the biggest moments that is enough to get praised even if your total career numbers are a bit overstated in my opinion.
