You're missing the point entirely. We consider plenty of international competitions to be relevant (Olympics, World Cup, etc.) but the concacaf cl just doesn't matter.

It's not more important, but some people actually care about it. Nobody cares about the concacaf cl, partially because of unlucky scheduling (it's at the same time as the NBA/NHL playoffs and the European soccer season), but mostly because it just doesn't interest people.
