Should be able to hold on to the wheel of the likes of Nibbels and Valverde though, unless he really spoke the truth when he said he was a bit heavier than in the vuelta and didnt really train in the mountains this winter.
If he survives the final climb without much trouble, things are looking up for him for the rest of the giro. We will know a lot more about all the GC men and their form in the next 1,5 hours or so
