As a fan of a team who sees reputation calls go against them all the time I don't mind it.
Bautista bitched about every called strike last year and had a bigger zone because of it. This year he keeps his mouth shut and the strike zone has been reasonable.
If you are looking to keep the purity of the game the best way is to show the divas that they have to show respect or see consequences.

I don't think it was *that* harshly. I've seen games where that pitch was a strike all night long. Last year the bottom of the strike zone was at the goddamn shins for most of the season.
It was a ball, yes, but it's a ball that's called a strike quite a bit in this league and umps are humans and are biased and shitty just like the rest of us, so you're not doing yourself any favors when you shout in their face. Even umps who try not to be affected by that shit probably will be - it's how human brains work.
Robot umps are the only real solution.
