The entire basis of the economy of comically overpaid players and overvalued teams is the (semi-)objective value of the having the very best athletic specimens engaging in the contests, severely limiting the supply while creating tremendous demand. If one or the other of those factors were to be absent, economic transactions for sports as mass entertainment would be insupportable. For women, the supply is usually in excess of the demand. The demand simply isn't there, unless we're talking jell-o wrestling or something.
