Right now, perimeter based basketball is king because most teams use some form of Thibodeau's zone which is ideal for protecting against athletic wings attacking the basket. It's not that effective against shooters, which is part of why you see Curry being as successful as he is. Soon enough, someone will create a defense targeted at the perimeter (spurs already seem to be on their way to doing it) and it'll spread throughout the league, and offenses will adjust accordingly. With the promising young big men that came into the league from 2015s draft alone (KAT, Jah, Porzingod, Turner) I think we'll see a shift towards big man dominance over the next 6 years.

Well the 4 I listed are all high skill bigs. Brook Lopez and Nik Vucevic are finding a lot of success as skill guys, and Vooch will probably be on a very strong Magic team in the future potentially as their best player, so we'll see how that plays out. Rudy Gobert is an EXCELLENT defender, so while he's offensively dull, he's undeniable an incredible defender. If Marc Gasol can come back and play well, there's hope for him and Anthony Davis is a beautiful combination of skill and athleticism.
