kek, this loser is back:

>The Great World Champion was robbed once again!
It's total injustice how The Great World Champion has to suffer all the reliability problems with his Mercedes. Rosberg's '7 consecutive wins' don't have the merit! Even he said that The Great World Champion will come back!

>Of course, nobody's crashed into Rosberg, unlike Bottas and Nasr on The Great World Champion. Not to mention the severe floor damages to the car afterwards

>The Great World Champion was the driver of the day, especially with his outstanding overtake on Raikkonen and speed where he closed the gap down to 7 seconds, until he was forced to manage the rest of the race with the water pressure issue. Mercedes have done a pathetic job reliability wise on the Great World Champion's side of garage!

>This season, The Great World Champion is having his hand tied back race after race. But The Great World Champion has always proven that he can fight back from adversity.

>Hammertime for the World Championship!

Lewis isn't dominating m8. Glorious Rosberg is gonna win.

But I'd take Lewis winning over Red Bull any fucking day. I'd take all the non Red Bull teams winning over them and Toro Rosso.
If they had just kept the Stewart name and called themselves "Stewart-Red Bull" they would be fine with me.
Now Red Bull, a company which bottles piss, is going to permanently be on the championship trophy.

>>
>>67280511
And Jaguar purchased Stewart.
Of course Toro Rosso would be Minardi-Toro Rosso not Stewart-Toro Rosso.

The point is the Red bull brand has no motorsport association outside of sponsorship.
Thankfully Benetton never won the constructors so I don't have the same problem with them.

I just want Constructors or Private teams with a sponsorship. Not the sponsor being the team.
When Williams wins their logo is on the trophy not their sponsors. When Red Bull wins their name and logo is on the trophy. They are their own sponsor.
A piss manufacturer is on the trophy.

To me that is just disrespectful to everything that came before it.

Whats your opinion of the Toro Rosso boys, lads?
Sainz: consistent, eager, underrated, bit boring
Verstappen: cheeky, too eager, less consistent yet more points, overrated, fun to watch

Sainz is probably the better driver, just needs bigger balls and a louder voice if he wants to get anywhere. Verstappen needs to hold his throttle a little bit. He seems overambitious and could get himself killed. Has a ton of talent though.
>>
Man Toto actually BTFO of Crofty in the pre-race show when he brought up fan's Twitter messages. Toto's Aryan pride in his team's work triggered him really badly lel.

>>67283825
Sainz is massively underrated and unfortunately overshadowed. I think he could go on to be a GP winner at least if he puts himself out there more and gets lucky to be picked up by a top team.

I know it's a meme but with all the hype Max Amx will go to a top team and will win races. He has a lot to learn but the ability and braveness is there. As long as he works hard and listens to more experienced drivers and personnel he will be WC with the right team.

>>
>>67283891
I'm thinking the same but Sainz lets down way too often. Last race lost his 10th position in the last few laps and that happens too often. Way too respectful in his overtaking as well. He needs to be more dominant like Verstappen.
>>
>>67283825
I used to think Sainz would be the better fit to move onto a bigger team first but honestly this season, aside from his hotheadedness in Australia, Verstappen has been in complete control, being both faster (although it evidently takes him longer to warm up to a track) and much better in the race both in pace and racecraft. He has proven with his performance in this last three races that he's perfectly capable of being very solid (finished ahead of Sainz in China despite the same strategy and having to queue in the pit) and had the longest supersoft stint of anyone in Russia (even Rosberg who didn't have to follow another car). Sainz has decent, consistent pace and drives safely on the track but sometimes seems to struggle for seemingly little reason, and it could be argued at this level with the car he has he should really be overtaking more aggressively.

Both are exceptionally good for rookies, or new drivers. Verstappen has the fire and balls so all the attention is on him. Both are still over-eager but I guess that is a good thing, and rather have that instead of something like Bottas.

Max has the edge when it comes to racecraft and seemingly has a greater natural ability to actually race, place the car and do these sorts of moves with total confidence. Sainz isn't bad either and his racecraft isn't sloppy as a Perez or Maldonado, or early Grosjean.

Both clearly deserve a future in F1. Unfortunately I don't see where Sainz could go in the immediate future. Bit embarrassing if Max gets the Red Bull promo and he is stuck at Toro Rosso. Where would Sainz go though? Maybe something like Williams/Force India but I'm sure there are plenty of people eyeing those seats too. He is still young and he could still take a sabbatical but look how that turned out for JEV. I guess JEV is still involved but he's not going to drive a F1 car again unless Kimi/Vettel potato themselves or Haas drops Guti.

I guess Ricciardo could head over to Ferrari and Sainz and Verstappen could be teammates at Red Bull but that's a long shot and I doubt RB want that and I doubt Ricciardo wants to leave RB now that they are likely to be strong again

True. Also it's not completely out of the question that RB/TR simply retain their current lineups for 2017. Of course Kvyat is under fire right now but if he puts in a few good races, all will be forgotten. And realistically I don't think Red Bull really needs Kvyat to be as good as Ricciardo. Ricciardo is their obvious no. 1 right now and they probably don't want to experiment with another "equal drivers" situation after Vettel/Webber.

Sure Verstappen is already pushing for the Red Bull seat, but he also has to play his cards right because it's not like he is some ultra-high-value driver who will automatically transform a team. He is one of the best rookies in recent years but I highly doubt he could extract much more from the Red Bull than what Ricciardo is already doing (and I'm not a Ricky fanboy). Red Bull don't need him as much as he needs Red Bull. And even if they lose Verstappen to another team, it's not like it's game over for them anyway.

Kvyat's fate at Red Bull was sealed when Verstappen got those two 4th places last year. He's now trying to impress other teams that might have seats available for 2017: Williams, Force India, Renault. He might have to settle for a relegation to Toro Rosso. Red Bull don't have any juniors in the wings who could make the jump to F1 next year. I actually hope they take someone completely out of left field like when they signed Bourdais and tested Takuma Sato.

Dumb sis looking for me in the rain at that garden we were stuck in with summer clothing that I told you about earlier
>>
>>67286800

But Red Bull much like anyone, knows that Max didn't get those 4th places on merit alone. Sure they are good results and good drives but without the retirements and general chaos, on pace and performance alone he would have been around the general 6-7th area.

Kvyat is a bit of a shame because he had a good season at TR, and he was basically "forced" into Red Bull because they didn't have anyone else other than JEV (who isn't RB material, at least according to them)

If anything, Red Bull should learn from this experience that 1 good season at TR doesn't necessarily translate to a good season at RB. My thinking here is that RB/TR kind of want consistency and stability for a while, at least for next season. There isn't anyone really lined up to come to Toro Rosso except like.. Gasly who isn't amazing, so they don't need to get rid of the current drivers. The only real uncertain is Verstappen and can they keep him at TR for another season. In a way it's better because he has so much time ahead of him, and it's lower-risk to develop yourself at TR and then move up after 3 seasons, avoiding another Kvyat situation.

Theres so many races to go. If Kvyat does something great like wins a race or pulls off amazing moves then the media will praise him again and the momentum will shift. But if he chokes again then his career is over, both at Red Bull and in F1 in general.

The thing is, they have already signed Verstappen to Red Bull for 2017. They may have been forced to do it because of Verstappen's contract stipulations could have made him a free agent, but whatever happened, they pulled the trigger on him. Unless Tricky Ricky somehow wiggles out of his contract and goes to Ferrari to replace Kimi, the Red Bull lineup for 2017 is Ricciardo-Verstappen. How likely is it that Ricciardo goes to Ferrari? Kimi probably doesn't want to retire yet, Ferrari want to keep him as he's a solid #2 and they need continuity, Vettel gets along with him and doesn't want to be in the same team as Ricciardo again.

Let's face it, it's like when in 1995 Williams signed Frentzen to partner Villeneuve in 1997 and even though Hill won the championship in 1996, he was out. The same is true for Kvyat right now. Even if Manor, Sauber and Force India all folded after this season and F1 was forced to go for 3 car teams, Red Bull would field Ricciardo, Verstappen and Sainz. Kvyat is done at Red Bull and unless they give him a pity seat at Toro Rosso, his career is pretty much over.

TL;DR Verstappen has a contract with RB for 2017 already, Kvyat is out even if he wins all the remaining races with Grand Chelem in all of them and becomes the most dominant champion in the history of the sport.
>>
>>67288182
Didn't Kvyat have some sponsor holding his back? He could go to Sauber or FI, or some other shit team I guess... Even if Alfa eventually buys Sauber, Kvyat would be a decent option instead of Ericsson.
>>
>>67282684
Really sad for Valtteri. Showed so much promise last year and kept getting fucked by Williams """strategy""".

>Did anyone notice Ericsson drive surprisingly well in Sochi
Considering the Swedish commentators will never ever stop talking about him it's kinda hard not to notice. One of the commentators is literally his manager.
Happy he's doing well though, maybe his career wont be over once Sauber goes bankrupt.
>>
>>67287869
How old is your sister?
>>
>>67289630

Bottas is getting fucked over by his own driving and the fact that Williams has almost no advantage anymore

He simply isn't aggressive enough. He's like a Rosberg 2.0 except even less aggressive. He did pull off some good overtakes but those were in cars that were faster in a straight line than anything else so. He also doesn't make himself look good when he lets Hamilton drive past him with no attempt to block (even though he hadn't even changed line once)

I think his best bet now is to stay at Williams and pray for a miracle that makes Williams into a competitive car somehow again. It won't happen obviously but it's not like he has anywhere better to go.

If Ericsson gets BTFO again this season now that Nasr has a new chassis, then Nasr could possibly move up to a midfield team soon.

>>
>>67289868
I meant last year, specifically Spa and Silverstone where he could've gotten podiums. Lately I do feel like his driving has been very unimpressive. Maybe being unable to pass people for free on the straights has exposed him.

If Leicester can win the EPL then Williams surely can design a good car again.

>>67295933
Nasr still has a brighter future than Ericsson thats for sure. It's possible that Ericsson is just having a hot streak for a few races, kinda like last season where Nasr still beat him by a good margin. It also seems like there really was something wrong with his chassis.
>>
>>67298549
nothing wrong with that. he had good tyre management (not quite perez level, but still quite good), and alan permane has mentioned pastor gives very good feedback several times.

also, some very honest comments from gene:

>We have a lot left in the car to develop so there's a lot of positives, that's for sure

>I think it's going to get harder. I think the other teams look more competitive. The time gaps between all the competitors has shrunk so it's going to be more and more difficult going forward to score points

>I'm very excited but also I realise that, boy, this is a tough sport

Vettel lifted because Checo in front of him suddenly began to slow due to his puncture. Kvyat was way too slow to react to this, he should be ready to react to first lap incidents.

If you watch Kvyats onboard you can clearly see Checo's car slow, Kvyat hit Vettel, and then steam by the limping Checo.

>>67312006
No. There's Red Bull the drink company, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso (Team Red Bull in Italian).

And as I said previously, the deal is already done. DONE. Kvyat could win every fucking race from pole, lead every lap, take the fastest lap, cuck Ricciardo by fucking his wife, get Hamilton to suck his cock on the podium and have Senna come down from heaven to declare him The Greatest of All Time - it doesn't matter. Red Bull Racing has only two cars next year and they have signed agreements with Ricciardo and Verstappen.

In case you've only been watching F1 since 2008, I suggest you google "hill williams 1997" and read what happened. As with Hill, Kvyat was kept for this year only as a stop-gap measure so Verstappen could stay at Toro Rosso for one more year. Red Bull never even had any intention of keeping Kvyat beyond this season. You can screencap all my posts in this thread and when Verstappen's deal gets announced and they admit that they made the decision in 2015, you'll know I was right.

>thinking contracts are worth the paper they are written on in F1
If Kvyat were to hypothetically prove himself as awesome as the scenario shows, Red Bull would give Ricciardo the boot with little consideration.

Also drawing Damon Hill as comparison is a pretty weak argument given as Williams in the 90s were known to have a "fuck the drivers" attitude, believing (not unjustifiably given their success) that they could win the title with any semi-decent driver if their car was good enough - although the fact that the mid- to late-90s possibly had the weakest driver line-ups in F1 history probably also played a part in that mindset, but I digress.
>>
>>67312441
>No. There's Red Bull the drink company, Red Bull Racing and Scuderia Toro Rosso (Team Red Bull in Italian).

i believe it's signed to RBR.

> Red Bull Racing has only two cars next year and they have signed agreements with Ricciardo and Verstappen.

i raise the example of sauber... and three of those four drivers brought sponsorship money to the table, and at least one of them had paid in advance!

> I suggest you google "hill williams 1997" and read what happened.

frank williams is famous for not valuing drivers and getting rid of them... or putting them in a situation where they choose to quit.

> As with Hill, Kvyat was kept for this year only as a stop-gap measure so Verstappen could stay at Toro Rosso for one more year. Red Bull never even had any intention of keeping Kvyat beyond this season.

given that kvyat was promoted after one season, here is the previous example that verstappen could have been promoted this year. if kvyat had fucked up last year, he'd have been out, but it was ricciardo that had performed poorly.

> you'll know I was right.

How pissed are you at the tourists? I was there in mid August and the amount of Asian travel groups was just unbareable. I know i was kind of part of the problem, being a tourist myself, but at least i didn't clogg the streets or consume the city like fast food. The city center was crowded at all times, even in the middle of the night, i kind of felt sorry for the true florentine people that they never have the city for themselves, only people worse then the Asian drones were the loud as fuck Americans, which might be the worst tourists in the world.

brundle blowing the fuck out of f1 (and shamilton):

>It's always a privilege to do the podium interviews, although I would sum up the three main inhabitants on Sunday as 'yes, it's all quite nice I suppose', 'poor little me', and 'it wasn't too bad apart from the bad bits'. I'll leave you to assign those while I take a few moments to reminisce and reflect on the Schumacher leap and other such podium joys

>I think there are too many races, and the drivers are subjected to relentless media and PR year round and especially over a race weekend. They learn to say less to avoid internet headlines and lectures from the team if they are off-message

>The front runners are earning millions and driving these glorious machines supported by hundreds of the finest technicians and viewed and admired by hundreds of millions of people. They should be permanently smiling with their good fortune

>They are certainly lucky to be driving such safe cars given that a trip to the wall mostly involves a rush onto the radio button to throw expletives to the team rather than a rush to hospital. And that's a good thing, those many fiery, gory sacrifices over the decades have enabled that. The big questions remain, are F1 cars safe enough now? And does F1 need risk to be attractive to fans?

>I believe the cockpit closures will create as many safety issues as they solve, are ugly and heavy, and not particularly suitable to filter down to junior racing

>The cockpit closure will almost certainly appear because liability scenarios will now mandate it. Then something else will happen until finally we have to take the driver out of the car to avoid any further injuries

>I have no data to back this up but I believe that if you cycle to work, ski the slopes, ride your motorbike and suchlike you are taking as many risks as a modern-day Formula 1 driver. But at least you don't have the chore of that champagne-soaked podium to put up with

Brundle is actually the most based. I agree with everything he said there. I don't agree that he's just a HAM worshiper or that he's out of touch with the times. He seems to have a good idea of what's going on and isn't afraid to voice his opinions on anything.

What are you even basing your 100% confidence on?

Contracts in F1, as anyone should know, are basically just general guidelines and not actually binding if a party wants it enough. Alonso had a contract at Ferrari for 2015, Vettel had a contract at Red Bull for 2015 etc.

If Kvyat wins the next 10 races then there isn't a doubt that Red Bull will renegotiate their contracts for 2017. If Sainz wins 5 races or even 2 races and Verstappen has an off year, Sainz will be more likely to move to Red Bull than Verstappen. The TR contracts are in the form of a 3 year deal, maximum 3 years at Toro Rosso, potential to move to RB after 1 season and be there until the end of your contract. For JEV it was 3xTR, Kvyat, 1xTR, 2xRB and for Max it might be 2xTR, 1xRB

No, Bennis wouldn't allow it because it would mess up the aero.

It's true. He is fully correct and nicely BTFOing the fuck out of Hamilton's crybabbiness. Then again both the Mercs looked so unhappy at the podium, to the point that P3 Kimi was the happiest.

The canopy/halo is unnecessary. There have been thousands of laps in hundreds of different cars in all single seater categories in hundreds of different races on so many different tracks, just think of all the amateur, pro, local, international, junior etc single seater categories there are and how many races there are in a year, and how many laps are completed without any injury. Its astounding. The only real prominent head-injuries in recent memory have been the following:

>Justin Wilson, partially caused by retarded aero and generally racing on an oval, also a freak accident

>Surtrees or whoever got hit by a tire. Fixed in F1 with the cables that prevent the wheels from falling off in a crash, canopy doesn't protect the top anyway

>Massa - ok ultra freak accident, do you need to change the design of a car because a spring came loose once? Nothing happened rules-wise as a result of his injury anyway

>Bianchi - WOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED if there wasn't a fucking tractor on the track. Canopy WOULD NOT HAVE saved his life anyway

So there's literally no point except for "oh it's safe so I guess its good so I won't say no" and now it's going to be implemented and no one is saying anything. This sport is going to meet its demise sooner or later. It's going to be RC controlled eventually or completely virtual as the risks and costs become too high. What the fuck is the point? Everyone hates it and hates the look of it, its mainly unnecessary and everything is already at a supremely safe level, the only people defending it aren't even actively FOR it, they're just of the opinion that if it improves safety then it isn't a bad addition.

If Hamilton hadn't moved to Mercedes and stayed with McUcken do you think he would have quit f1 by now?

>The team announced on Twitter it will not join the two days of running at the Barcelona circuit

Top 3 Worst European tourists:

1. British - loud, rude, obnoxious, usually drunk, still making fun of the French and Germans about WW II

2. Italians - Loud, don't know what a line is used for to wait for services, irritating but submissive

3. Germans - Loud, obnoxious, zero sense of humor, zero patience, ready to fight over any perceived sleight

The only thing worse than the above are Africans, sand niggers, and gypsies.

Bianchi was also racing flat out in the rain when it was dark as fuck and there were double yellows in that section - he did it twice, too. Had he lifted, he wouldn't have died. It was the exact same situation as with Senna - they both pushed too hard at the wrong time and paid the price.

One thing to think about is that the marshals were in great danger. I think F1 should make it safer for the marshals right now and canopy sure as fuck won't save them if something goes wrong.

>French not on list

Germans honestly aren't too bad. Bad apples in every group but Germans generally kind of have enough shame to not be total assholes all the time. They aren't particularly fun people unless exceptionally drunk but that doesn't make them a bad tourist group. But the French are cancer everywhere they go. Pure unfiltered arrogance, terrible language skills, get annoyed when someone doesn't speak French, act incredibly disrespectful towards locals, seem to find entertainment in being as obnoxious as possible towards local people and traditions.

British "lads" are terrible, true bottom of the barrel, luckily you can avoid these people (and their ""women"") by not going to the most generic "party holiday" location. Although there is huge variation within British tourists. Most of them are terrible but I've met a lot of them in South East Asia and they have ranged from unbearable to extremely polite and even ended up traveling with an English guy (no homo) and some other friends for a while because he was cool.

French tourists are just the worst I have ever encountered outside of Chinese and maybe Israeli. China really takes the cake in all aspects of shittiness of tourists though, just truly astounding, especially because for the most part they are semi-nice and welcoming people in their own country (at least on a surface level).

Scandis and generally uncommon countries are the best. Dutch are ok but a mixed bag, Spanish/Russians are cool if they speak English, which is almost never.

Exactly. It was his own fault. Everyone knows that if you crash under yellows, it's your own making. Even journalists and F1 people have openly said that it was Bianchi's own fault. The rules weren't even flawed honestly. Maybe the race should have been red-flagged earlier but IIRC drivers were still on inters so it wasn't THAT bad?

If the speed limit is 100 km/h on a normal road and someone goes 200 km/h, crashes and dies, do you lower the speed limit because of this accident? No, because someone was breaking the rules and doing what you were not supposed to be doing. It's the same analogy for Bianchi's situation. Had he driven like the rules required of him, he wouldn't have crashed.

FIA also needs to adopt a hardline rule that if a recovery vehicle goes on track, its an immediate VSC/SC/Red Flag. It's so easy to implement so why not. It automatically prevents Bianchi 2.0 from happening ever. It's just bizarre that all of this is ending up in a drastic change of the cars that no one really wants and will likely decrease interest in F1 even further as the cars will look shitty and there is no apparent sense of danger (a lot of normal people literally watch it because its dangerous and for crashes).

I don't know wtf you're talking about Senna tho as it was a mechanical failure which really shouldn't happen regardless of how hard you push so its kind of hard to blame his crash on his own driving
