They had a brutal schedule last season, and they lost 7 games within 1 score. 2 losses were overtime, and 2 were because Gould muffed 2 short kicks and lost the game.
Their schedule is much much easier this year, and they have added a ton of talent to their defense. The defense had menial talent last season, but as the year went on played way above their talent level.
Fangio is going to go nuts with all the new defensive players they got in FA and in the draft.
Their defense is no doubt going to immediately improve.
Im not saying they are playoff bound because all of NFC North have cupcake schedules too, but they are going to easily be over .500
