What the fuck does he even think doing shit like that? He runs Costa and Coman for maximum box pressure but benches Mueller for 70 minutes. How fucking stupid is he?

Say what you want about Klopp at Dortmund, Mourinho at Chelsea, van Gaal at United etc.

But this man has the strongest squad by far and he still is struggling to even make the final. And this is after easy as fuck draws too.

Worst "top" manager in the world? I think so.

I fucking hate him so much
When he gets fired, imagine, he will be forced to become a Spic Maid in some fucking rich persons mansion, but he will fuck that up as well.

On his first day in the Mansion he will walk in and see beautiful marble floors, paintings by the finest artists and excellent standards of cleanliness. Does he leave it, and clean messes as they appear?

No he doesn't because he is fucking Pep the autist. Pepspergers syndrome takes over. He replaces every single vase in the mansion with a miniature Spanish Vase because 'they exploit the space in the mansion more effectively' even though they are basically invisible. He would go into the master bedroom and put exotic fish in the bedsheets and the pillows in the aquarium 'to experiment' and then at the fucking Maid awards ceremony would be declared the most genius Maid in all existence.

He would spend his days standing in the halls of the mansion pulling autistic facial expressions and shouting at cobwebs that are making their first ever game in the mansion for not growing in the exact autistic way he has asked them to.

Maybe he would be linked to go and work as a maid in some oil sheik mansion, how could that fail.

But Pep would always be a shit Maid for the same reason he will always be a shit manager. No Messi, Pep finds it impossible to be tidy.

You think Luis Enrique is a great manager?

Because in his first season with Barca he picked up the treble. In his second season he's on course for the league and Copa. Do you think that's him or Messi? Enrique is average at best. A lot of the time he has no idea how to help his team. Some times he's even detrimental to Barca.

Anyone can look like a good manager when they've got Messi in top form.

This is definitely true for Pep as well, at least to an extent. So far in his career he's walked in to two of the greatest squads of a generation.

This. I bet Guardiola would turn Sergi Roberto into the next Xavi if the returned to Barcelona.
>>
>>67151434
They were champions league winners 2 years before Pep came in. And CL semi finalists in the year before he came in.

Xavi, Iniesta, Puyol were crowned European Champions in the summer before Pep took charge.

His biggest decision at that time was letting go of a fat Ronaldinho and Deco who didn't care any more. And sanctioning a deal for Alves, a player everyone knew was great.

Pep, in his genius, also realised that this Messi guy was quite good and maybe he should play him.

The idea that Guardiola turned things around for Barca is a myth. They were destined for greatness with or without him.

he also started utilising messi's talent to the fullest by giving him a free role not just limiting him to the wing

>>
>>67151589
>It's fact.

Great argument.

Messi turned Barcelona around. Barca have continued to win league titles and the CL with Messi whilst Pep has floundered against any good teams put in his path - often losing badly. Pep is currently working with by far the strongest team in a league that can just buy their only rival's best players every summer. In the CL he continually gets outwitted in the games that matter.
>>
>>67151675
Xavi had just won player of the tournament at Euros. Iniesta has always been important to Barca.

Messi dictated where he played.
>>
>>67151643
>was not a monumental achievment.
Winning the treble in your first season. Winning six trophies in a year. 3 League titles, two CLs and 2 CdRs in 4 seasons. Setting all kinds of incredible records. Having a philosophy and style that defined a team, that is studied and talked about and debated constantly.

If this isn't a "monumental achievement", then by all means tell us what is and tell us why so many 'greats' cannot manage this level of success, because it seems to me the easiest way to spot a retard who knows absolutely fuck all about football is the way they shit all over Pep.

There are ways to lose games. You can lose well or badly. Pep's team has been taken apart in the last two CL - losing horribly. Tonight he fucked up again, dropping Muller and playing diminutive players that Atletico are experts at frustrating.

M8, he finished 3rd in Ballon d'Or voting in 2007 and 2nd in 2008. Messi was a top 5 player in the world at the age of 20 when Guardiola arrived
>>
>>67151842
Ronaldinho said in 2006 that he wasn't even the best player at Barca. Messi was a first team player from around that time. Xavi and Iniesta weren't really that prominent though, Deco was more that star midfielder. But, then again, I have no idea what i'm talking about.
>>
>>67152550
United, and English football, was in a fucking state in the early 90s. The standard of football was shit and so was United in the context of Europe's best teams.

The country was still suffering major hangover from the Heysel ban.
>>
>>67152425
I wouldn't call losing 3-5 to Barcelona "losing badly" or "btfo", the first Messi magic match had a lot of chances for Bayern to draw that match.

This morning they tried to stretch Ateltico and failed athough they did get off a lot of shots and force a lot of saves, it could have gone either way. Better luck next match - 1 home goal hardly decides the final result.
>>
>>67152574
Wow, Messi began to hit form in his early twenties. Just like every other footballer.

It must be Pep!

>>67152590
No. Everyone at the club knew he was destined for greatness.

>>
>>67152425
Three of the goals in the second leg came from set pieces, I'd hardly call that being taken apart. And 3-5 against Barcelona isn't that bad.
>>
>>67152610
Ssssshhhhhhhh

Everything is Pep. Messi was just some winger before Pep turned up.
>>
>>67152682
Wow, Messi began to hit form in his early twenties. Just like every other footballer

Except it was literally like the switch of a light bulb with Messi before and after Guardiola. He didn't gradually become that good, Guardiola immediately transformed him and Barcelona (and the whole of football for that matter) when he arrived
>>

There's a massive fucking difference between being 3rd or 2nd place in Ballon dor and being what Messi became after Guardiola.

if some of you claiming guardiola had no special impact at the squad and the way they play actually watched some of the 05-08 barcelona games, you would realise just how absolutely dogshit football was back then, and how guardiola's barcelona and rijkaard's barcelona are like barcelona and daggenham

The first Barca - Bayern game was so decisive that the return leg meant nothing.

Pep completely fucked up at the Nou Camp. He stretched his team leaving his midfielders the impossible task of covering the entire pitch for the entirety of the match. Messi exploited the space between the Bayern midfield and defence and ended the tie before a ball was kicked at the Allianz.

What's worse is that Pep had a blueprint (Heynckes' victory 2 years before) and the players at his disposal to play on the counter.
>>
To anyone saying Messi was nothing special before Guardiola arrived: get a fucking grip and watch this, it's an 18 year old Messi playing in the CL away against the best defence in the world and the champions of the best league in the world

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4D3sXXVjtAo

Guardiola of course deserves a lot of credit for what he did there but Messi would be GOAT even if they hired Moyes
>>

ok, buddy
>>
>>67152842
>What's worse is that Pep had a blueprint (Heynckes' victory 2 years before)
He had a blueprint of beating a team that was forced to start a one legged Messi and that had a coach literally dying of cancer. You'd have a point if someone tore Messi's hamstring and infected Luis Enrique with cancer before the first leg
>>
>>67152768
"This award says I'm the best player in the world, but I'm not even the best player at Barcelona." -Ronaldinho, 2006

That was 2006. Messi was voted the 3rd best in the world in 2007 and the 2nd best in 2008, then 1st in 2009.

It was very much a gradual, steady climb for Messi towards greatness.

You have no idea what you're talking about.
>>
>>67151294
really underrated
>>
>>67152842
>What's worse is that Pep had a blueprint (Heynckes' victory 2 years before) and the players at his disposal to play on the counter.

Yes because that's exactly the same situation.
>>
>>67152771
Messi's decision. Pep was playing him on the right of Eto'o and Ibrahimovic until Messi decided that he wanted to play through the middle.

Ibrahimovic has said as much.
>>
>>67152842
>and the players at his disposal to play on the counter.

They were all injured, he didn't.
>>

My favourite one is back in 2004 or 2005 when Kobe Bryant visited Barcelona during their USA tour and the first thing Ronaldinho told him was "Come, I'll show you the kid who will be the best ever"
>>
>>67152877
The way to beat Barca has always been on the counter.

That's how Real and Atletico have beaten them recently. Everyone knows that's how you play Barca.

Pep was just too stubborn with >muh philosophy to play that way.

Counter attacking certainly doesn't guarantee you victory against Barca but it gives you a far better chance than the retarded tactics Pep employed against them in 2015.

He had Muller and Lewandowski.

You don't need Robben to play counter attacking football. Atletico manage just fine with Torres.

>Messi's decision
Shut the fuck up. Guardiola saw some space for Messi to exploit while watching some tapes and told Messi to do it before the 6-2 against RM in 2009.

I feel like you guys don't understand how amazing this was. You have people talking about how 2015 Barca was better because of the players without looking at how they played. 5-0 against RM was an amazingly dominant performance - don't talk about the 4-0, it's not the same - and the CL final in 2011 is the most one-sided CL final I have ever seen.
>>
>>67153043
I can't believe that you'd go as far as to deny Messi's extremely obvious greatness from a young age as an argument for Pep being great.

It's just flat-out retarded and leaves you without any credibility.
>>
>>67153091
>have people talking about how 2015 Barca was better because of the players without looking at how they played. 5-0 against RM was an amazingly dominant performance - don't talk about the 4-0, it's not the same - and the CL final in 2011 is the most one-sided CL final I have ever seen.

I completely agree with you here. Make no mistake, I can recognise Pep is a good manager, I just don't think he's proved himself to be a great one yet. That 5-0 win was artistic. But I think Barca's greatness then was owed more to Messi and peak Xavi and Iniesta than Guardiola.
>>
If Ronaldo is better than Messi, how come people don't ask if Ronaldo is the greatest of all time? Checkmate, atheists.
>>
>>67151696
Koke v Vidal is such an American comparison, they do entirely different things for their teams
>>
>>67153072
I didn't mean they were fake, just incredibly opportunistic

All I'm saying is that it's easy to shout "Ha i said Messi was good 10 years ago. I knew he was destined for greatness" AFTER Messi became this monster, which, by the way, only came out after Guardiola.

Nobody, fucking nobody, could predict Messi would be breaking record day and night, because he was just a winger manlet with sick closer ball control skills before Guardiola arrived.

>muh 2005-06 Messi

Yeah, great game against Real Madrid in the Bernabeu and Chelsea in Stamford Bridge for an 18 year old. But what about the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons where he was older but failed (even though he did get into the top 3 for the awards)

What im saying is Guardiola definitely HAD a huge impact on Messi.
>>
>>67153195
But the 5-0, 6-2 and CL final 2011 wins came from Guardiola using Messi as a false nine - his tactics.
>>
People forget Barca won la liga with Tito Vilanova with 100 points but when Messi got injured they lost 7-0 vs Bayer. Proving that Barcelona recent success has to do with Messi being the absolute GOAT. There were plenty games where Guardiola shitted the bed like today with his obtuse tactics and Messi came out to the rescue.

As for Atletico Simeone pretty much perfected the catenaccio and they will win the CL. They have conceded 16 goals in the whole season.
>>
>>67153284
Those players were all on the verge of defensive greatness before Simeone came in.

Also,
>catenaccio
>>
Bayern is plagued with injuries, regardless of your memes when fit this Bayern is the best Bayern, even Krauts know this
>>
>>67153269
>But what about the 2006-07 and 2007-08 seasons where he was older but failed
The only thing he failed at was winning trophies because he was stuck on a mess of a team with burned out stars and a burned out coach. He was 19 years old and was already the best player on a team with Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Deco, Xavi etc, he just wasn't good enough to carry this mess to league and CL titles.
>>
>>67153284
Tito's Barcelona were godly against shit sides but could never win against stronger sides. Real Madrid were having a party with them most of the time

>>
>>67153284
>catencaccio
why do people use that word as a synonym for any defensive tactic? catenaccio does not equal "playing defensively" for fuck's sake it's a very specific man marking tactic that's pretty much extinct.

Actually what Guardiola did in the first 15 minutes of the Barcelona-Bayern final was much closer to catenaccio than anything Simeone ever did.
>>
will he ever be able to do it without Messi?
>>
>>67153343
Injuries are mainly the managar's fault too.
>>
>>67149498
>Mourinho at Chelsea
Yes, never reached a CL final with them despite having a squad far more stacked than any Bayern Munich team.
>>
>>67153346
>The only thing he failed at was winning trophies

And also not being a tenth of the player he became right after after Guardiola arrived
>>
Simeone is a tactical genius

he has literally gotten into the minds of his players and his players know exactly where to move, when to move, what to do with the moves, where to look towards next, and if all those steps fail, clip the opponents leg for a soft foul and reset. He is a fucking mastermind.

Right and I think his tactics are overrated. You don't have to be genius to know that Messi, Iniesta and Xavi might be well suited to possession style of football. It's only the type they've been learning at Barca since they were kids.

You don't have to be a genius to know that playing your best player and finisher through the middle might be advantageous to you. What Pep did wasn't anything new. He just had the right players to do it with.

Take a look at Man Utd for a team with a Cruyff/Barca "philosophy" but without Lionel Messi.
