Our generation hasnt really had many great, superstar heavyweight fighters. Guys like Ali, Fraser, Hollyfield, Tyson, etc. Those are the guys people wanna see.
Whereas MMA has had guys like liddell, silva, GSP, etc who were crazy marketable and good for the sport
