B means those with weakened physical abilities and they usually get all the easy jobs like IT and cooking and shit
C means released from peacetime service, so no conscription for you
E means postponed service, and you need a valid reason every year for not going into the military, most hockey players and other sportsmen living abroad have E papers until they're like 28-29 when they can spend one summer in a "special" training program that is basically just training for their own sport while going through the 8 week basic training
My company had a couple of these wannabe hockey stars who were like in their mid 20's while everyone else was 18-21, it was pretty frustrating to watch them just sit around doing nothing while you were going to spend the next 6 days on a winter camp while sleeping in a tent on a -30C weather

There are a couple of different ones here too. You have to do a fitness and psychological evaluation. Passing both means you're declared fit, and have to do military service. You can opt out, if you have a valid reason, and do civil service instead (shit like fixing mountain paths, helping out on a farm, helping out at an old people's home, helping tend to a forest), but that's 50% longer. Then you can be declared unfit for service, but fit for civil protection service, and they're there for shit like getting people into bunkers if there's ever a war, or helping people after a natural disaster. If you're declared unfit, but don't do civil protection, you have to pay an extra 3% tax a year, unless of course you're genuinely disabled.
A lot of the athletes here end up being declared unfit, due to back or knee injuries, and just choose to pay the money.

Military service is always 6,9 or 11,5 months
6 months is the basic for everyone except medics and mpol, who serve 9 months
There are also 2 different typesof leadership training and they are the ones who serve for 12 months.
The first one is AUK, which is for non-commissioned officers aka sergeants and corporals. First everyone goes through the same 8 weeks of basic training, then the ones who go to AUK are picked from that group while everyone else is sent to their own branch of service. After 6 weeks of AUK training, the best candidates are sent to RUK which stands for reserve officer class. I was in one of these and basically you are trained to lead your own unit along with the regular army trainers. Your rank will initially be just Officer Cadet, but you can be promoted during your service all the way to the rank of Fähnrich (vänrikki in Finnish)
After you have completed your service, you can get called on these voluntary "retraining courses" where you go through additional training and get paid for it. I'm 23 so i've only been retraining once and it was fun as hell.
After that 5 day camp I also got promoted to the rank of reserve lieutenant for "exceptional service for the fatherland" which is basically just doing your shit well and being active in the military while in reserve
And that +3% tax seems pretty damn harsh, here if you really don't want to go to the military or waste 12 months of your life in public service, you can just whine to the doctor in the pre-army health check about having mental issues, authority problems, depression etc and get released from peacetime service
However i'm from a small town next to the Russian border where the military is still seen as a "rite of passage" for all men so the social stigma from that would be pretty big in here.

It's generally accepted that you can do that here too, there are some pretty obvious instant fail questions on the psych eval. It's just that anything that gets you declared psychologically unfit for the military is likely to come up the next time you want to buy a weapon. And people here like their weapons, so they'd rather just take the 3% hit, especially since even with 5% church tax, their whole taxes will still usually be under 30%.
