I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as grey clay, is in fact, rubico, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Har-Tru. Green clay is not a subsurface unto itself, but rather another free component of a vast variety of crushed basalts available throughout the world as defined by the ITF.
Many clay courts in all 50 states of the Unites Sates use a modified version of red clay every day, without realizing it. There really is a green clay, and these people are playing on it, but it is just a part of the court they play on. Clay is the foundation: the ground elements of the court that define ball bounce, shot returnability and time to dry. The subsurface is an essential part of a sport, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete court. The rules of clay courts are normally laid out in combination with the tennis ground elements: the whole court is basically crushed basalt with clay added. All the so-called "clay" courts are really courts of crushed bricks.

Borg is vastly underrated in the GOAT discussion. He won 5 Wimbledons and 6 RG's in a time when those two surfaces were the furthest apart in terms of speed. That's just remarkable. He retired when he was 26 years old. He would've won 11 more if he had continued to play into his thirties. Part of me wants to put him at number 1 in the list but Fed's 17 Slams and the Career Slam are too much to overlook.
