The courthouse that was going to originally hold it was in a really white area because OJ lived in a really white area.
juries are selected based on demographics on location via random sample of residents (more likely to have white jury in an area if area is white)
However the white courthouse was damaged in an earthquake a year earlier and the case was moved downtown where all the minorities lived.
The state's attorney was a woman and allowed the defense an mostly black jury because she was banking on the black women to turn against OJ because OJ married a white woman and OJ was a wifebeater. However she didn't expect Johnny Cochran to ignore this and make the entire trial about race, baiting the blacks on the jury perfectly even though OJ was essentially a white celebrity that didnt give a shit about "the cause"
