More than 50% of the world are women. If women want women to get paid more, they have no excuse to not go see the games, and eventually build up as much support as their male counterparts.
That won't happen though, because although some women love sports, in general, more men do, and will follow the men's sports.
Skill has something to do with it as well, you want to see the worlds best for example, regardless of gender, but most of it simply comes down to choice, and women don't put enough time and effort into following their sports for them to make enough money.
