No, their squad is 90% shit.

>best team
>dat defense

Mitrovic is top 10 striker

What, in Newcastle?
>>
>>66812196
Top 10 of currently active Serbian strikers maybe.
>>
I agree that their team, on paper, is better than a couple of the teams above them in the table. But team cohesion will always trump a decent team on paper I guess. I mean, compare the current Leicester squad on paper (start of season, nobody knew about meme magic) versus the QPR side that got relegated recently. On paper that QPR side probably looked stronger, lel.

Some other weird seasons that come to mind are Blackpool in 10/11 that got relegated scroing 55 goals - same amount as Tottenham that season who finished 5th.

Also, in 02/03 West Ham got relegated with 42 points so I guess you can argue that is the best team to have been relegated?

I honestly hope, as a Swansea supporter, that we will snap him up after they go down, that kid has got some heart and drive that we sorely lack ATM (the jury's still out on Paloschi though). Straight swap for Gomis maybe?

Also, Shelvey for 12 mil? FFS, they really are the joke brigade
>>
What about Juventus?

Leeds 2003-04 is certainly worth a mention if we're only talking about Premier League teams.

If we're talking in the history of the game, Newcastle won't even be in contention.
>>
>>66812352
Damn, that was a very decent team.
>>
>>66812258
good points tbqh

Where were you when the Leeds dynasty were kill?

Beaten by meme magic, chatting shit and getting banged since 1884 lads.
>>
>>66812261
Fuck off plastic Welsh cunt. He bleeds black and white. He'll score 30+ in the championship then come back up to teach the premier league a lesson.

but Leicester were relegated too that season. In fact >we beat them in this game later in the season which pretty much relegated them.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=55VOJi07PzY

it was Portsmouth, Arsenal and Bolton who banged us that season.

also
>Seth Johnshit
>Jason Wilshit
>Nick Barmshit
>Frazshit Richardson
>Lamine Sakhofshit
>Zoumana Camashit
>Salomon Olemshit
>Michael Dubshit
>Didiler Domshit
not listed there because they were sent back for being shit
>Raul Bravshit (le Real Madrid man)
>Roqshit Junior (le World Cup winner man)

Kelly, Harte, Robinson, Radebe, Smith, Matteo, Viduka and Bakke were the only decent players. Milner, Pennant and Lennon were just kids.
>>
>>66812725
Manchester United will fall by the wayside just like Leeds in a few years.

this was the good Leeds team.

I don't see the problem in him moving to Swansea then.

probably not their revenues are way too high, football has changed alot in the last 10 years. They are destined to be more like Liverpool - spending lots of money saying our year la and finishing 7th.

>>66812834
>Plastic Welsh cunt

what_is_nation_flag.png

Also, he doesn't strike me as one who will stick with Newcastle through thick and thin. He will fuck off to a mid-table team just to stam in the Prem, more like.

Then again, who's not a mercenary in the modern game?

As a Swansea supporter I hope we stay as far away from him as possible. Needs 10 chances to score 1. He's like Gomis but less offside and more hotheaded.

Yeah, League 1 maybe hahahaha. Can't wait to see Newcastle get promoted back up to the Championship in 5 years. Stevie Taylor's still gonna be starting. Jesus christ kill me.

Their transfer committee is even dumber than the Aston Villa one.

>hurr let's sign two dozen players with average Ligue 1 performances

Their head scout is obsessed with France. He's responsible for 90% of the signing flops in the past decade. And what did they do with him this year? Fire him for his underperforming transfers? Fuck no! Promote him to their Board!

It really says something about underperforming when one of the world's richest teams, like 6th or 7th in the EPLel, is stuck between 18th-19th all season and they reward the guy who is the main culprit of this situation.

Cases in point:

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11678/8456362/newcastle-chief-scout-graham-carr-backs-french-arrivals-to-shine

>The Magpies added to their French legion with the signings of Mathieu Debuchy, Yoan Gouffran, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Massadio Haidara and Moussa Sissoko this month.

>"Will I go on signing players from Le Championnat? Yes, because I love France and the French players," Carr told L'Equipe.

Instead of looking for good players wherever they are like any good Head Scout, this faggot signs players from Ligue 1 and 2 just because. And he openly admits this. And fans are A-OK with it.
>>
>>66817591
>And fans are A-OK with it.
No they're not. Literally everyone in Newcastle is calling for Graham Carr and Lee Charnley's head

no theyve always had a shit squad, pardew did miracles keeping them in the league for years

mixture of the owners, fans, and scouts to blame

Amazing they went down when shite like Coventry City stayed up that season. Middlesbrough had a great team that season, I think the season after they walked Division One.

>Amazing they went down when shite like Coventry City stayed up that season.
Blame Robson.

>muh squad illness

>I think the season after they walked Division One.
They were second. Forest were champions.
>>
>>66819062
Shit you're right. Forest had van Hooijdonk still didn't they? That was before he had his massive strop.

Looking at that league table and it's amazing the change. Stockport County eighth in the league with Man City and Stoke relegated. Crewe and Oxford in the top half, teams like Tranmere and Bury in mid-table.
