Is Skip right?
>>
>>66809284
no
>>
>>66809284
statistically yes
>>
>>66809284

Isn't he that sportscaster who thinks he's the Spurs owner or some shit?
>>
Naw. Wilt had some better seasons
>>
Yup. Steph has skyrocketed into #3 all time. the only thing hes lacking in slightly is duration of prime. I thibk we can all agree no one has ever been better than current steph curry
>>
no

Offensively, 30/6/7 on 50/45/90 shooting is I think the best ever though
>>
>>66809284

arguably if you do some type of weird stats to wins formula

Yes.
>>
they said Curry is the first guard since Jordan in 91 to average 30 ppg on 50% shooting, Jordan did it 6 seasons in a row
>>
>>66809284

>dominates on offense
>shit on defense
>weren't great until draymond came

Yeah no, skip is trying to draw reactions out of turbo Autist sports fans.

Like he averaged 30 ppg 7 assists per game. Great numbers but you don't even have to go back that far to find a better season. lebron 2013 had a far more dominant year. Should have also won DPOY. Then Jordan seasons. Then wilt. Skip Bayless is a meme.
>>
>>66809284
Hell nah. The Big O averaged a goddamn triple double one season.
>>
Not even in the top 10 greatest seasons.

Kareem and Wilt OWN the best seasons in NBA history. MJ and the Big O are up there too.

Curry is barely in the top-20 of top seasons.
>>
>>66809469
>Should have also won DPOY.
Stop watching ESPN
>>
>>66809284
yes skip for once is correct.

>>66809464
jordan did it on shots that were half the distance of the shots curry was making. still mj is better be did it on mid range shots and layups. curry did it on long range shots and an occasional layup
>>
man I just read Steph Curry as Kobe Bryant.
>>
Skip is a schizophrenic degenerate who is a sports commentator. Just look at his tweets when the Cowgirls lose.
>>
>>66809721
one can argue that is more difficult since those shots are worth less and more easily contested
>>
are people really calling a 30 pt 6 ast per game season "all time great"?? so sad this sport is dying
>>
Kobe just proved at any time he could turn it up and score 60, but he just chooses not to because it's the regular season once again proving that regular season records don't matter
>>
>>66809284
05-06 Kobe
Any Chamberlain year
87-88 Jordan
>>
>>66809284
Gretzky had outrageous seasons year in year out
>>
>>66809788
true but curry made so many threes that if at one point for a month if jordan made all his two he still would have scored less than curry.

but jordan is still better
>>
Yes.

This is just a small part of the greatest NBA career of all time.
>>
>>66809971
While not playing at all in the 4th in 90% of games.
>>
No because Currys defense is average at best.

Probably one of the best shooting/offensive seasons though
>>
Greatest NBA season of all time without a doubt.
>inb4 some faggot says muh Wilt
Wilt Chamberlain was a sideshow act and his teams routinely got BTFO because their entire offense was "hurr throw it to big nig". None of his stats matter. Kobr could average 60ppg if he took 50 shots a game like he did tonight but that would be retarded and meaningless.
>>
>>66810171
yeah he is really unique in that regard, never before seen
>>
>>66809469
Idk about lebron deserving dpoy but i agree with the rest of this post. First take is retarded idk why anyone here takes Skip and the negro seriously
>>
>>66809284
if he follows up with a dominant playoffs then yes.i'd still give it to 95-96 Jordan (wilt's overrated) because of that playoff run.
>>
curry is just a distraction, the team operates on his attention and exploiting it
>>
Fucking Nate Archibald averaged 34 and 11 and half of you underage fags dont even know who he is
>>
>>66810258
I agree with what you said about Wilt but Currys season still isnt even top 10. Greatest 33 pt shooter of all time sure but his season is no where near goat
>>
>>66810258
Also teams back then averaged like 130 possessions per game, today it's 95
>>
>>66810332
oscar robertson went 30-10 in like 5 seasons in a row too, never hear about him from ESPN.
>>
>>66810332
>>Fucking Nate Archibald averaged 34 and 11 and half of you underage fags dont even know who he is
>muh stats
you fucking retards that think best stats=best season are the worst.
>>
>>66810372
literally the only argument I see from curryfags is "muh stats"
>>
>>66809391
He neglected to mention that was the Warriors record last year too.
>>
why the fuck do you guys keep bringing up old players who got their stats from playing at a faster pace against worst competition? none of them could average those numbers today.
>>
>>66810073
>honkeyice
>>
>>66810372
>>66810393
I just brought up Nate to put Currys season in perspective. Neither of those seasons are near goat.
>>
>>66810073
didnt Gretzky score 50 goals in 39 games one time
>>
Curry had easily the best offensive season ever. No one in the history of the game comes remotely close. Definitely up there for best season ever but that would probably go to one of MJ's seasons.
>>
You want to argue that Curry had the greatest season of all time

And you can't find anyone better than Bayless to support your argument

Then you have no argument
>>
>>66810421
and what do you say about players who have had better offensive seasons under the current play style?
>>
>>66809391
Kek. Just noticed this. Lmao regular season wins are so irrelevant Lebron went 66 and 16 with the garbage ass cavs and that team got rekt in the playoffs
>>
>>66810403
Yeah, there are "many" teams having 67: the 2007 Mavericks, the 00 Lakers, the 92 Bulls and the 86 Celtics to name a few. Fun fact: the only teams to have ever beaten a 67+-win teams are the Warriors and the reigning conference champions.

The numbers don't lie and they spell disaster for San Antonio.
>>
>>66810491
There are none.
>>
>>66810393
73-9
there you go
also raw points stats like 34 11 and >muh 50 points and >muh averaged triple double are deceptive as fuck
but going 50-45-90 and utterly destroying the 3s in a season record on top of going 73-9 is difficult to argue against. (i still think it goes to 96 jordan tho unless the warriors go something like 16-1 or 16-0 in the playoffs and curry wins FMVP)
>>
>>66810516
>best home record in NBA history
>disaster

no
>>
>>66810491
I think prime Lebron and Westbrook would dominate in the 90s. Idk if steph could meme just bc of handchecking and shit defenses were allowed to maul opposing players till MJ whined about it after 89. He prob could desu. I do think most modern NBA stars could be all stars in any era. Idk if i can say the same about stars from other eras

>yfw Jordan averaged 28/6/6 on 51% shooting as a rookie

Steph is great, better than Kobe or Lebron, but he's still not MJ
>>
>>66810448
Nate went 36-46 that season. Nice perspective you got there.
>>
>>66810355
You are blind, he carried the Warriors in so many wins. This is the greatest single season of any player, his efficiency was incredible, his impact on 9 players on the court was like no other. When he has the ball on the court, 5 players on defense have to pay attention to what he's doing meaning he draws every single defender.

You will see in the playoffs what Curry is made of. You got an 82 game sample size.
>>
>>66810527
Jordans best regular season wasnt even 96 it was prob 88 or 89 when he avergaed liked 32 8 and 8 and was 1st team all defense. I think media votes for first team defense and they all sucked mjs dick but thats still an insane season especially considering how defenses would just hack the shit out of anyone coming in the paint until post'89
>>

>>
>>66810584
Hes a super efficient scorer but thats it. Average defender decent passer and yeah. Sure he averaged 50 40 90 and hes an amazing 3 pt shooter but thats not a top 10 season. For me personally a top 10 season is amazing offense and defense. Steph 100% deserves mvp i just dont think its near the goat season
>>
>>66810582
>Better than Kobe
Wrong
>>
>>66810663
I mean, in pretty much every category, yes
>>
>>66810643
we just gotta face it, nobody cares about great perimeter defense like jordan played since there aren't many stats that record how effective it is.
>>
Yes but can't really say it for a year or two since he can top it
>>
>>66810613
because it wasn't. durant only put those up cuz westbrook was out, plus the thunder didn't get the 1 seed and when westbrook came back they almost got cucked by the grizzlies in R1
>>66810591
good point. i like giving it to the 96 season cuz he still averaged 30-6-4 plus went 72-10 and went 15-3 in the playoffs, but the league was much much much more watered down then than it was in the late 80s (most stacked era in my opinion)
>>66810643
this pretty much. i think it's top 10 range but jordan's bulls years and maybe some kareem seasons are definitely above it because of defense
>>
>>66810680
I mean to play top tier defense while still being the first option is really hard. Thatswhat sets apart players like prime MJ Kobe and even for me. You look at any top 10 nba players list and all the players listed are going to be above average defenders (bar bird and magic who were both pretty bad on d)
>>
>>66810670
In what categories? Free Throw percentage? Besides a 7% better three point percentage their stats are nearly identical. Meanwhile Kobe has 5 titles and Curry has 1.
>>
>>66810722
I agree
>>
>>66810460

kobe's career averages/stats are not that impressive. Honestly, tmac probably peaked higher than him. He does have longevity as a top 5 caliber player which is what is his legacy should be.
>>
>>66810929
>thinking 95-96 MJ was his prime at all
Kill yourself. Have you even been reading this thread. Compare him to 88 or 89 MJ dumbass(And yes Curry is prob a more efficient scorer but MJ blows him out of the water defensively
>>
>>66810944
>>66810954

Physical prime was 85-87, but mental prime was definitely 95-98. It was his Final Form, he didn't need petty earthly things like ''athleticism'' when he had that fadeaway jumper and glower power. Kids today will never understand.

Face it, Jordan wouldn't even be a top 3 player on this Warriors roster. Even Klay and Draymond have surpassed him now.
>>
>>66810980
Ok, just compared him to 88 MJ. Curry still better. Wat do now?
>>
>>66811048
>curryfag so desperate he switches to per 36 stats that don't reflect reality
>>
>>66811094
They only don't reflect reality when you use it for a role player who plays 12 mpg. Not when using it on a player who sat out half 4th quarters because his team was up by 20
>>
>>66811094
It reflects the reality that Curry sat out of 1/4 of his 4th quarters because he was so good that he didn't have finish teams off. Why would we compare stats between different amounts of time on the court? That doesn't seem like reality to me.
>>
>>66811094
Curry played 34 mins per game this year how does it not reflect reality lmao. because of those 2 minutes he didn't play?

>>
>>66811808
It's not even close. It's just a product of fast the teams were playing back then. There were ~35 more possessions per game and players were shooting significantly worse so there were more available rebounds.

Adjust the numbers to the 1962 pace and Magic, Kidd, Westbrook, Lebron, Grant Hill, Jordan would all have those triple double seasons. Some of them multiple seasons
>>
>>66811808
anything before the 80s is irrelevant

It's Skip Bayless. He's like a walking hawt taek that picks the most emote-y motes and dredges a fucking mariana trench out of it. Fuck Skip.

>>66812153
Eras are really hard to compare. But I tend to figure the 1950s and early 1960s in NBA is like the 19th Century in MLB ... you get bizarre totals like Wilt's 100 and you wonder if he coulda done that even against this year's Sixerscrubs.

That being said, Wilt was still a boss.
>>
>>66811837
>it's easy to get enough dunks/layups to average 30+ a game
>>
The real victim of Curry's dominance is that faggot Kyrie Irving.
>>
>>66810591
This, though i would say his best all-around is probably the 92 season.

Jordan had two peaks: first was the athletic one from 88-92. Then, he peaked again from 96-98, though he trusted his teams far more this time.
>>
No...Steph isn't the only one who accomplished that. Skip left out 11 names
>>

That's not even the 4th best record, though.

Ok here's two certainly better seasons.

Consider that Wilt played more than 48 minutes which means playing every single minute in a season+overtime. How is that even physically possible? Blocks and steals are also not recorded stats. Also 50 points, nuff said.

Michael almost 33pt triple double on 54% while being league's best defender.

Yeah the golden state season is remarkable and so is curry but let's not be prisoners of the moment.
