First of all because Villareal and Real Sociedad aren't top tier teams by a fucking mile. Valencia, Sevilla, Atletico and Atletic are.
Second because if you lose against top tier teams and still finish first, it means the so called "top tier" teams are losing points against shitty teams
If you win against Barcelona and lose against Levante, Las Palmas and Malaga it means your win was just a fluke and you're bad as fuck
