This aging roster is going to regress and the offensive production will be weaker.
Led by an incompetent manager, this team is heading into rebuilding mode sooner than excepted coming off a 100 win season.
I am a Cardinals fan, but I see the writing on the wall. This team *might* be able to compete for the 2nd wild-card this season through the use of a good bullpen and a little luck, but the pipeline is drying up. There are not enough position players in the farm system to make an impact in the coming years. Too many players, such as Yadier Molina, are becoming liabilities rather than producers.
No amount of 'le devil magic meme' is going to save this team from it's impending fall from grace.

I just wish it had happened to another team so the Canadian announcers would stop going on about it. Every time there's any sort of review today they've been bringing it back up, even though Bautsita was clearly in the wrong and not making any attempt to stop himself sliding right past the plate.
It's going to happen again a number of times this season too. And then one of those times they're going to mess up and get the call wrong on review and it's going to open a whole new can of worms. Especially if it happens to one of the really big teams. Can you imagine Royals fans if it were to happen to them?

Exactly. I doubt Forsythe's throw was affected much by that grab, so there's a good chance he still throws it away. If Bautista had used his hands to hang onto the base, instead of using them to try and trip Forsythe, you would probably still have the 4-3 Blue Jays lead. Bautista tried to play dirty, got caught, and his team payed the price. Slide rule or not, you can't reach out and try to trip a fielder like that, it's no different then when Arod slapped Arroyo's glove back in '04.
