Why are female commentators a thing? Not only do they not know shit about sports, they lack the passion for them that is inherent in men. They talk about sports like they're talking about shoes. I remember one day while watching a football game there was no commentary, at all. At first I didn't really notice b/c I was enjoying the game. But then it became obvious that while I could hear the sounds of the stadium and on the field, there was no one talking.
Turns out my remote got switched to the alt audio channel, and there wasn't any spanish for some reason.
I would love if there was a no commentator option for sports. Most of the commentators are horrible IMO. It doesn't matter if they are male or female.
That being said...I don't watch hockey in general, but they seem to have good commentators. Perhaps that is because they don't have time to BS during the game.

So much this. Commentators are usually just ex-players who have moved into a comfy and well-paying commentary position.
