The Women's scene is just not as competitive. Once you win titles and establish your program, the best athletes come. In the Men's game, there are enough top-level players to make it competitive.
Which is not to say that Auriemma (sp?) isn't a good coach, nor is this record "easy". It's just simply less-notable because it's in the women's sports environment. Women's soccer is an inferior product and less competitive, Women's professional basketball is an inferior product and less competitive, Women's hockey is an inferior product and less competitive, etc.
Not all women's sports are "inferior". Take golf, or track/field, for instance, both men and women are extremely good.

I'm going to UConn for grad school and decided to check out the team. I've never watched women's basketball before.
It's cool to be going to a school that actually does well on the national stage but...
....is it just me or was that game kind of slow? And they (on both sides) missed a lot of easy shots. Am I wrong? I don't follow men's bball heavily either.
