There is so much money evenly distributed in the Premier League that top players from other competitions will sign for mid or lower table Premier league sides

Most of those guys are mid range Premier League players that can have elite upside, and the fact that the lower Premier League teams are able to afford those kind of guys and invest more money in potential if they get lucky things can really work out for them
The difference between the chances of a guy like Pedro for 30m and Shaqiri for 15m panning in a new strange league aren't quite so different, for example. Which means the gap between top sides and lower sides has become smaller. Combine that with the weak season from the usual elite (United, City and Chelsea) who all have their own crisis this year and you've got the reason

See Statey, my argument is that i've been a season ticket holder, gone to away games, seen how the team operated under Pearson.
Compared to now they look completely different, sure they're the same players they just click better than what they did. Last season was a major fail from Pearson till those final rallying games because they players showed what they could actually do when not playing entirely negatively for 90 minutes.
The Championship season is as much a direct influence on the way the squad as a whole have been performing than anything else.

Leicester's defence has been second to none. Even when comparing to Spurs who have let less in, when you consider the amount of ball time Leicester have been without, and the amount of goals put pas them (5) in Arsenal H, over the course of the season they've done incredibly well.
Part of Ranieri's tactics for sure to have 11 players defend when they're not in possession, it's not just the back 4 but Kante, Drinkwater have been the best midfield pairing, and Albrighton has made the most tackles/interceprtions as a winger also, like wise Vardy and Okazaki from the front are high on these lists.
That's how you win games, how you kill them off 1 - 0 up or 2 - 1 up is a different matter and Leicester have been text book at killing games off like Chelsea were last season.
