Shorter players have lower centers of gravity and have less momentum to overcome when changing directions. Some of the best dribblers in history have been midgets like Messi and Maradona. Barcelona has been one of the most dominant teams of the last 8 or so years fielding a team where their non-defensive players are basically all under 6'.
