Tom Brady is the GOAT of USA and he's from a good family

Messi is the GOAT of the world and he got his hormone treatments paid for, there's nothing more priviledged than that

This is true, you cannot even play golf if you are poor

Quite a few tennis players. Pretty sure Federer's parents are loaded, and Wawrinka's run some charity and own a farm.

both these fuckboys right?

They both went to a private high school, lived well since dad was in NFL, and went to SEC schools and NFL

A lot of the children of star athletes. Kobe grew up wealthy.

Soccernomics had a cool theory about this. Poor kids do disproportionately well in sports, but people from like, Kenya don't. You need to be in a country wealthy enough where even the poor are well enough nourished, but be personally poor enough that you can't afford video games and other shit that keeps you from just playing sports with your friends all day.
>>
>>66474721
the nba recently did a study and found out that most nba players are well off kids and that poor niggers without a father like lebron james are the minority

Its not like it used to be or like the nfl is toda
>>

you asked why

google videos of mike tyson talking about his kids, he answers your question

>Poor kids do disproportionately well in sports
that's not true though, only in retarded sports like boxing and football because no one who is at all well off would be retarded enough to risk their sanity or life doing that shit. They only play shit like quarterback or kicker, which are unsurprisingly mostly those rich white kids, they can simply afford better training, equipment, education and opportunities.

For soccer everyone who plays it is poor so it doesn't really count, and still most of the best players are european and probably were not born into poverty
>>
If you're poor you have much more motivation to succeed. The possibility of being able to support your loved ones that are also living in poverty is one of the best things to fuel your determination. Conversely, being born to rich parents gives you zero motivation to be successful on your own since you already have everything.

Also being poor limits the amount of activities you can do. Whereas rich kids can go off exploring the world, poor kids that can't travel or afford smartphones or even internet are basically forced to play sports to occupy their time.

It's pretty simply really.
>>

definitely not true, people born wealthy are way more likely to try to be. look at how things were at school, did the poor guys stay in school and be tolerable for the teachers or was it the rich ones?

99% of all formula one drivers. Also most field hockey players (at least in the Netherlands)

yes but they rarely think "imma make money playing sports" instead of running a business and then investing after getting a university degree

in america, black americans don't have university to look forward to without a full scholarship, at least they don't look for such things, whether or not that matters, their own views make it real

also poor kids, their parents the majority of them are uneducated, so they literally wouldn't know how to even apply to a university let alone actually find a way to pay for it and even if that happened, they'd have no clue you have to pay for your books once you're in

I'm not saying your wrong if you're talking just about the UK

but in America isn't not that way, rich people play sports to a degree, and the sports they do play aren't things like the NBA/NFL

I know there was a linebacker from texas who invested in oil, pretty sure his parents weren't hurting for money, unlike the majority of his teammates, I am willing to bet he's got more % of money left from his NFL contracts, just because he knows what to do with $500,000, his teammates would have to ask someone before they ever get the idea to invest in the things he's already thinking about investing in

>why do the best athletes always come from poor backgrounds

Because rich, spoiled kids are gaming, eyes locked on their phones and tablets, don't have to contribute to the family, etc.

Poor kids have only one way of challenging themselves and finding amusement: hanging out on the street with other kids and doing shit together. They spend their entire youths getting used to the feel of a bat, or a ball, or whatever.

When their skills get cultivated, they are more motivated to make something out of it so they can contribute to their families, etc.
