I could definitely understand an argument based on the fact that the Summer Olympics is too saturated with track and field and cycling and other unnecessary endurance sports.
But the Winter Olympics is similarly saturated with esoteric skiing disciplines that nobody cares about in the least. But there's really nothing at all to watch beyond hockey, curling and snowboarding.
