Yes but there are a lot of rich minorities in this country, more and more non white players are starting to come up. Granted, these players are usually pretty white washed, so it's kind of ok. But there skin is a different colour. It's a demographic thing, it's bound to happen. (In Canada at least, I can't speak for the Euro playing hockey countries.)

I think asians are yeah, and a lot of them that come over here are middle class at worst, so if they adopt Canadian customs they put their kids in hockey. It's not necessarily a dominant minority issue though. Most immigrants who come here no matter the race are like I said, middle class at worse.
It may take another generation or two but think of it like this:

>First generation does not play hockey, but begins to develop Canadian values
>2nd generation may play hockey, but the important factor here is this generation grew up in Canada, so they are more attuned to Canadian values than their parents
>3rd generation - Parents from the second generation now have money, now have kids, now have strong canadian values. Will now put those kids into hockey.
It's just a matter of time, it may take another 20 years, but it will happen.
