Not Arsene Wenger though, tbqh.

Is it even up for debate that pep has failed at Bayern?

He's done the bare minimum there to keep his job by winning the league.
>>
>>66335050
>He's done the bare minimum
Heynckes, van Gaal, Klinsmann, Magath etc all failed to deliver this bare minimum
>>
>>66335206

Pep was handed a treble winning side in a time when only 2 teams compete for the league
>>
>>66329078
>2 CL in 25 years

He became so dominant in English thanks to a combo of a golden generation all coming through at once, and being good at scaring players/press into doing well.

When it came to Europe where he couldn't control everything, he got found lacking
>>
>>66329104

They don't have to. Pep and Mourinho have already won 2 CLs each. If they both win 1 more, then I think it will be fair to say they've both surpassed Ferguson in terms of success in the Champions League.
>>
>>66335016

He won the Cup Winners Cup with Aberdeen. Just let that sink in for a minute.
>>
>>66335348

They need league titles as well. If it's easy like retarded jfs on /sp/ thinks (like you) they should have no trouble doing that as well right?
>>
>>66332094

But the other side of that is that Mourinho and Guardiola were able to move to a different team in a different league and change their tactics to suit their new players and their new league while still staying successful in Europe. Just look at Mourinho alone:

>Porto: title in 03 and the treble in 04
>Chelsea: titles in 05 and 06, made multiple deep CL runs at a time when the Premier League was actually good (05, 06, 07, 08, and 09 finals all included at least one English club)
>Inter: title in 09, the treble in 2010
>Real: title in 2012 (Setting the record for most games won, most points, and most goals scored), turned them from a joke in the CL to an actual contender
>Chelse again: title in 2015, then everything went to shit

If it wasn't for Ronaldo/Ramos/Casillas being divas and Chelsea's players basically giving up this season, I think most people would already consider Mourinho the best manager of all time.
>>
>>66335423

Guardiola is in his early 40s and Mourinho is in his early 50s, they've got plenty of time to overtake Ferguson in terms of league titles.
>>
>>66335480

yeah but they won't
>>
mouyes > fergson
>>
>>66335500

I think they will. Guardiola has 5, Mourinho has 8, Ferguson has around 15 (13 with United +2 from Scotland). Looking at the rate that they've won titles, is it really so hard to believe that Guardiola can win 10 more and Mourinho can win 7 more in the next 20 years?
>>
>>66335500
They will both win more league titles than Ferguson's 15 provided they don't retire early
>>
>>66335548

both are running out of infinite money clubs to run to
>>
>>66335588
Because Manchester United are Norwich tier in terms of money, right?
>>
>>66335588

Mourinho has been at Chelsea, Real Madrid, and "infinite money" clubs like Inter and Porto. Pep has been at Barca and Bayern. They could still go to PSG, Man United, Man City, or even Arsenal (once they get the stadium fully paid off).
>>
>>66335612

>thinking mou will win shit against poop
>>
>>66335673
I meant that Ferguson was coaching at a filthy rich club for over 25 years so an argument that Pep's and Mourinho's titles mean less because they manage rich clubs is retarded
>>

>>66335715
>everyone thought were unbeatable
mmm they were almost kicked out by milan, then almost kicked out by psg, and finally kicked out by bayern when they had no messi and no manager
>>
>>66335548

yes it is hard to believe

poop's only got maybe ten years left in him at the top so he has to win a title every season from now on just to equal fergie and you can rule him out of winning it next season with shitty

and mou has antagonised all the best clubs in the top leagues so you can rule him out for sure, I suppose he can go back to porto though if he wants
>>
>>66331727
>>the greatest manager of all time got btfo twice by the greatest player of all time, Messi

fixed for you

also
>7-1
>>
>>66335687
Uhhh.....

Big difference between being a world class MANAGER (not just being a good tactician or scout) and getting the most out of players, as well as supplementing that with one-off big signings (Ferdinand, Rooney, van Persie, Keane) and working hard to develop youth and promote from within the academy (Cleverley, Fletcher, Giggs, Gibson, Evans, Brown, Scholes, Butt, Macheda etc. etc.) to bolster the squad and simply signing up all the best players in the world staying for 2-3 years then moving on to yet another club and doing the same again.

Ferguson had to adapt and change his teams. He had to deal with transitional periods, something neither Pep or Mourinho have ever had to deal with and there is no evidence that they can actually do this. That's the biggest challenge of all. Getting a team full of old and declining players and actually building it into a team of european champions without making 15 new signings.
>>
>>66335779
>poop's only got maybe ten years left in him at the top

Why? Ferguson kept going until he was 70, Wenger is already 70. Pep is only 45.

>and mou has antagonised all the best clubs in the top leagues so you can rule him out for sure

He's going to Man United next season. And there's always PSG, Bayern, or Juventus. I agree that certain clubs are out of the question, though (Real and Barca will never happen again for him, Arsenal is also highly unlikely).
>>
>>66335940

poop is a hipster and will retire inside ten years to become an inreior decorator or some shit, I;m willing to bet City will be his last job

>He's going to Man United next season
no he's not
>>
>>66335779
>and mou has antagonised all the best clubs in the top leagues so you can rule him out for sure

The fuck?

Chelsea fans absolutely love him and they booed their own players for forcing him out. He was sacked because of the results.

Inter Milan absolutely love him from the directors to the fans. He was treated like a god when he showed up last month and was greeted with a massive card display in the stands. He's an Inter legend.

Real Madrid are fucking retards and will sack/sell anyone. So they don't even count. But I'm confident that they are kicking themselves that they are missing out on him now and instead have to settle for a clueless amateur with 0 years managerial experience.

Porto. Enough said.

There's not a single example of what you are describing. Not one.
>>
>>66336018
>Not one.

except real madrid
>>
>>66336018
Fans love him, but the fans aren't the ones making managerial appointments. Both of his last jobs ended up in a locker room crisis and any higher ups will surely be wary of that when deciding on hiring him
>>
>>66336038
So Madrid constitutes "ALL THE BEST CLUBS IN THE TOP LEAGUES" does it?

Did you see the team Fergie played in the 2011 final? The fact United were even there is a testament to how good of a manager he was.
>>
>>66341019
I think Ferguson is the GOAT manager (just no some untouchable god that some people make him out to be) but he got probably the easiest path to the final ever that year

Group: Valencia, Rangers, Bursaspor

Knockouts: Marseille, Chelsea, Schalke
>>
>>66329078
Maybe in terms of European silverware but not in terms of building teams and and getting the best out of players.
>>
I wonder what happened to English teams in europe. We used to be something to be feared, now we're a joke. Feels bad man
>>
>>66341102
United are still trying to recover from Fergie retiring, Chelsea bottled it against PSG last year and have completely collapsed this, Arsenal being Arsenal and City lacking experience in Europe with an overage, overpaid squad.
I think the cycle will come back around and English teams will come good again at some point, you'd certainly hope so with all the money coming in, it'll just take a few more years. Perhaps Spurs and Leicester in Europe next year might be good for the league, it'll certainly give the other teams the kick up the arse they desperately need.

Its almost as if the quality of English football left with Fergie.
>>
>>66341102
English players suck now, how can a English team be good if that's the case?
>>
>>66341178
English players have sucked for a lot longer than the last 4 years, Chad.

>>
>>66341234
>>66341285
Fergie never got United relegated, something that Mou would have done with Chelsea this season
>>
>>66341303
You could easily make the same point about Chelsea 1, he started his last season shit then too. Not AS bad, for sure, but it doesn't take from what he achieved.
>>
>>66329078
>le dominate domestic football due to financial monopoly and fluke the CL man
You don't realise how shit English football was when United dominated. It was Blackburn, Leeds and Newcastle who put were United's main competition.

Ferguson was always been shit who got massively lucky. 2 Champions Leagues in 27 years managing the world's biggest club is an embarrassment.
>>
>>66329078
Neither of them will ever save a fallen giant from obscurity. Mourinho's performances with porto and inter comes closest. Nothing pep's ever done is on the same level.
>>
>>66340861
My sides are gone...thanks
>>
Pep will never even come close to Ferguson. Never ever. He will be exposed when he manages City.

Mourinho will at least end up in the same league, but he's not going to end up as successful as Ferguson and he has too many failures to his name already.
>>
>>66348017
>Nothing pep's ever done is on the same level
his first year at barcelona's first team takes a dump on ferguson. He even beat him in the cl final for maximum humiliation
>>
>>66347698
Lucky for 26 years? Yeah, ok.

Also what about still winning the league by a landslide in his last season with an aging squad?

What about still winning the league multiple times after Chelsea were bought and started spunking money left, right and centre?

He was a great manager, probably not the best but still great. If you genuinely think it was all down to luck then you're absolutely deluded.
>>
>>66331758
Look at the 2 finals fergface actually did win. They were the weaker team both times.

If anything Slur Alex is lucky to have just 2 CL titles.
>>
Mou got a treble against Messi
Alex got a treble against a bunch of no name germans
>>
>>66349173
>Mou got a treble against Messi
he only faced messi in two games in cl
>>
yawn why compare managers. Its all too difficult with too many variables.

This GOAT shit has infected us from the americans. Everyone wants to know who was the best even though its impossible to know for sure even from results.
