They lost the CL final the year before against them, that year they went 7 (not 6) games unbeaten and proceeded to get knocked out in the CL quarterfinals again. Even when they're in their most dominant moment in the rivalry in who knows how much time they proceed to fuck up when it matters the most.
And even then, I doubt that just by on-field performance you can consider Halal Madrid a first rate team. They're considered that way because of big splashes in the market and being one of the biggest clubs overall, not because they tend to not fall below 3rd in Lel Liga.

It depends how Leicester or Spurs use their victory, if either of them win, to build the club. Spurs are better placed to build on it obviously because they're already a bigger club.
