How do we fix Dutch football?

Arab money

Belgian money
>>
>>66192307
So Arab money?
>>
>>66186040
ask the italians, they're good at fixing football
>>
I don't see how it can compete at the highest level again, when they don't have the population..
>>
>>66192316
XD
>>
>>66186040
They lack firepower up front. That's usually what you need to buy in the transfer market. They should improve their scouting to get cheap good players
>>
>>66192367
Their best players will leave in the summer as usual. De Jong is as good as gone.
At a least Guardado will probably stay, as he's a bit too old to go to another top team.
I don't see how they can stop being a feeder league, unless the team gets Arab money.
>>
>>66186040
dont let black people take penalty kicks
>>
>>66192388
It's ok to be a feeder league. Most leagues are, and most clubs are feeders to the biggest clubs. They need to focus on finding their own feeders. Yesterday they played well, they were able to defend and move the ball fast up to 3/4. Their problem was they had absolutely no teeth once they reached the rival's box, their attack was horrible. They need to focus on latin america and east europe to find their attacking talent. Buy cheap and sell after a few years, just like it happened with luis suarez. They are a really small first world country, they'll never be able to compete with bigger and more dedicated leagues.

money

Dutch teams usually focus on scandinavian talent within Europe and South-american talent outside Europe.
>>
>>66192615
Scandinavians don't produce talent
>>
>>66186040
While dutch football isn't that great, PSV did take a second place la liga team to penalties.

Atletico should be asking themselves now what they're plan B should be when they face a good defending team
>>
>>66192674
They did great and had the most clear chance. Could have easily won
>>66192615
Dutch football appears to be very technical oriented. I think this plays a bit against them. Smaller clubs tend to have more success with rougher, defensive, simpler and more physical approach
>>
brink back ronald koeman
>>
>>66192721
You know this team played very defensively all champions league and depended upon Zoet, but if you watch the Dutch league they don't give a fuck about defending and you see center backs go full David Luiz and attempt to take the ball to the other area by themselves.
Even the lower table teams do this. It's like an unspoken rule to play offensively.
>>
>>66186040
Team from a baby league reaches last 8 in a tourney with europes best teams sounds fine to me. Going 0-0 and almost reaching last 4...
>>
Daily reminder that Ajax will be in champions league next year, will win the last match in the group stage against Barca when standings in the group were already decided and call themselves GOATs again.
>>
>>66193857
it's funny how PSV fans get so cocky that they've made it through the first round when the one year they qualify is the year the seeding rules change. you've had a much easier group than Ajax has had in the 4 previous years and you still barely made it through, while Ajax has been jewed by the UEFA/Lyon/Zagreb in one year and by a diving Balotelli in another year
>>
>>66193481
This didn't happen though, we're still in round of 16.
I guess it did happen with Portuguese football for 2 seasons with Porto last season and Benfica now.
>>
>>66193883
Ajax fans have been complaining about PSV duping the EL for 4 years, meanwhile getting next to nothing in the CL themselves except for fluke wins in matches that didn't even matter anymore. Now Ajax is in the EL and couldn't even drag out one win, meanwhile PSV advances in the CL (yes is a much easier group). This is just bitter sweet irony.
>>
>>66193915
Realistically quarter-finals is the best a small country can achieve these days, PSV are a respecatble team these last 12 years in the CL
Quarter-finalists out of france, england, spain, germnay, italy, in the CL, since Porto won it in 2004

15/16 Benfica
14/15 Porto
13/14
12/13 Galatasaray
11/12 Benfica and Apoel Nicósia
10/11 Shaktar Donetsk
09/10 CSKA Moscow
08/09 Porto
07/08 Fenerbahce
06/07 PSV
05/06 Benfica
04/05 PSV(reached semis
03/04 Porto(winner)

Just 13 in 104

I forgot about that. Fucking Chelsea won that year.
>>
Get Ariaga as manager
>>
>>66186040
Even Partizan beat Az in two matches, jesus dutch league is pure shit
>>
>>66194024
PSV back in the 04 and 06 days had pretty good players tho, not exactly the same.
>>
>>66194087
That's probably because AZ sells all the key players from their entire team almost every year to Ajax and PSV
>>
>>66193857
>against Barca
it's funny because they always end together in the same group
>>
>>66194904
Either barca or real madrid
>>
Leave it to van gaal
>>
>>66192327
We have the population and can't compete at the highest level.
>>
>>66186040
Add more experience to the teams.

Less idealism, more pragmatism. You can strive for idealism in football, but to combine it with succes is possible only at the top level like Barca and Bayern. I'm talking about european football here. Domestically the teams are fine. Ajax is the perfect example of this. A 'muh philosophy' club, top level domestically and succesful too. In Europa they aren't top level and their philosophy brought only dissappontment, because pragmatism was needed.

Also smart scouting and youth developement are still needed. Psv seem to get it lately.
>>
>>66186040
>We can't. Impossible. It's very simple:

Dutch football is based on a lot of academy work. Everything we accomplished post 90s, is because the generation of the 70s success, went into management/training themselves. They established an "academy culture" in the 90s. Van Gaal is a PERFECT product of that philosophy, and he has put together some of the best teams in European history (Ajax 95, Pep's Barcelona, Bayern). Even now at Manure, even though he is less successful, he's making youngsters perform at top level.

NL has produced some of the best players from the past 20-30 years, who all "grew up" in the Eredivisie, accomplished great things on a national and European level, and then went on to other top clubs. The LAST example of this, is van Persie, who won the last European trophy for the Eredivisie with Feyenoord in 2002, beating Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA cup final. That whole Feyenoord team was PILLAGED. Kalou, Tomasson, v Hooijdonk, among others were also on that team.

Dutch teams invest a SHITLOAD of money into their academies, and rightly so. We still produce some of the best talent but... our league is a victim of the current fucking CANCER ERA of football. Sugar daddies, governments like Spain who pump ungodly amounts of money into their clubs, insane sponsorships, etc.

Now, Dutch kids get bought by European clubs as young as 14. They never make it to the Eredivisie. If we DO get a talent in the Eredivisie, he'll get bought up within a season. Every single year, the Eredivisie is getting weaker and weaker because the REAL talent that used to make it a regular semi-final CL contender, is being snatched away before they even get a chance to actually play senior football.

Our national team is also suffering because our players, don't play together. They are scattered across clubs and there is no way they can form a normal, cohesive team.

>Dutch football is fucking dead due to money cancer in modern football. The rest will follow too.

>governments like Spain who pump ungodly amounts of money into their clubs
I wish they pumped ungodly amounts into barcelona instead of trying to destroy it
>>
>>66195093

You're pretty much summarizing the reality of every big traditional feeder country. The amount of money being pumped into a handful of clubs and leagues is also devastating to countries like mine, where promising youngsters sometimes barely get 6 months in one of the big clubs before getting bought off.

Back in the 60s, 70s and 80s Argentinian clubs used to be able to go head to head against European competition and come out ahead. It's not possible anymore.

At some point the bubble will burst, though. Chinese people will stop buying shirts and focus on the new fad, and there's gonna be something different to balance it out.

just accept you are shit. it will be easier than holding onto your delusion
>>
Make a big league by combining all the Benelux country leagues into one
>>
>>66195435
No one wants to for obvious reasons.

Why would a mid-lower table team want such a league? It would make it harder for them to compete and it would make it harder for them to make it into European competitions which can be large sources of income for them.

For example, if such a league existed it wouldn't get 6 CL spots that they get now in their separate leagues combined. So a team like, for example, Feyenoord has it a lot easier in the Dutch league with greater chances to make it into Europe and thus having financial benefits from it than it would in any combined league.

Thus such a league would not only NOT be beneficial to the majority of participants in their current leagues but would in fact be detrimental.
>>
>>66192649

yo bro fuck you, we import a lot of scandinavians, most of them play for their national teams as well, so they are at least the best of their country. They are pretty cool that they wanna play here
