Who is the best player to never become NBA champion?

>>66106613

Barkley, Stockton, Ewing, Miller, Nash, Iverson, Webber, Malone.

Out of those guys Barkley is probably the best player, followed closely by Stockton and Malone. I think Iverson is overrated but most would argue that he is the best player there.
>>
>>66106628
His numbers are literally untouchable.
>>
>>66114134
>Out of those guys Barkley is probably the best player

You mean worst?
>>
>>66106738

Iverson was just the type of player you would enjoy watching and make you love the game no matter what team u supported. Thats prolly why more people are fond to him.
>>
>>66114134
>Chris Paul has played 10 seasons many of which people put him at the top of the point guard rankings
>not even half way to Stockton's assist total

lmao
>>
Chris Paul
>>
Karl "The Mailman" Malone
>>
>>66106613
Steve Nash was a God-tier player who was robbed of his championship when the Suns traded for Shaq then fired D'Antoni.

that literally killed the franchise and any chance of Nash winning anything.
>>
Barkley easily.

iverson

>>66106628
>>66114134
his numbers are fabricated
>>
>>66115993
Philly's most remembered players are the ones that preceded their street cred. Erving, Chamberlain, and Iverson are strong personalities of the game.
>>
>>66106628
>pick the player with the most assists
>not the player with the 2nd most points
Stockton was great, equal to Chris Paul by todays standards
But that's like if Chris Paul had Nowitzki as his teammate his whole career, Malone was a scoring monster

Which season would you rather have
Season A: 25.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.0 steal, 0.9 blocks 58.2% TS, 27.1 PER
Season B: 24.1 points, 9.5 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.2 steals, 0.6 blocks, 58.3% TS, 23.9 PER
>>
>>66114365
Dude also brought a team of scrubs and a 50 year old mutumbo to the finals. There's that too.
>>
>>66117573
Nerd.
>>
>>66117573
I'd rather have the season where the Jazz went to the finals.

You can hold on to those 2nd round exits though
>>
>>66117688
Well Season A is a 36 year old Karl Malone and Season B is Griffin's best season by far, so these numbers support your argument.
>>
>Karl Malone

Guy was a total nigger. His game was tossing his fat ass elbows around while being a stockton babby. His deadbeat father ass got cucked by MJ and later the pistons.

Btw in his last season he raped Kobe's wife.

Y'all are all retards for forgetting my boy Reggie miller

Chris Paul? Melo? I honestly can't think who has or hasn't made a conference final
Maybe tmac?
Christian laetner?

This was how Stockton got all his assists:

Have ball, get screen from Malone, use the screen, defenders switch, LIMITED HELP DEFENCE BECAUSE >MUH NO ZONE, pass back to Malone who shoots a layup over a 6 foot 1 PG.

REPEAT
REPEAT
REPEAT

Sloan was regarded so highly because of this. But then zone defence/help defence became legal again and he didn't look so good.

I'm not taking away that Stockton was overall a great player, but his assist totals were incredibly inflated.

Put Chris Paul on that Jazz team and he'll do just as good if not better.
>>
>>66114134
>>66106628
His numbers don't necessarily tell the whole story.

He was a very consistent player but never the best at his position at any point of his career. He also benefitted from playing with one of the most consisted scorers in Malone.

He was a very, very good player but not the best PG by any means.

>>66115057
>Steve Nash was a God-tier

Not that good. Still great though. He was always a liability on defense and never a good enough scorer to overpower a defense on deciding moments. Not that he didn't save his team a lot of times.

>>66120662
>Reggie miller

He was an offense first player that couldn't even create his shot. How is he any better than Klay Thompson right now?

>>66117398
>Malone was a scoring monster

He was a statbabby. Although they both benefitted by being with eachther statistically, Stockton was a more championship calliber player ultimately, even if his stats might not look as appealing as Malone's, similar to CP/Blake right now.

Malone was a liability in crunch time since he consistently choked from the line, which ended up costing them their title hopes multiple times.
>>
all these posts about Stockton and no one has mentioned his steals record
>>
>>66117646
And stole a road game against one of the greatest teams of all time.
>>
Iverson
Barkley
Nash
Stockton
Melo
Penny
TMac ( his ringh with the spurs doesn't count he was a late season pick up and literally didnt do a damn thing to help)
>>
>>66123970
He doesn't have a ring with the Spurs. He was there during 2012-13, which makes San Antonio's loss in game 6 all the more unacceptable: you literally cannot justify leaving a guy with 8 (eight) turnovers in the game when you got Tracy McFuckingGrady on the bench. Pop blew it.
>>
>>66117444
>Griffin arguably better
Maybe one day but today is not that day.
>>
>>66121684
Offence only?
Are you kidding me he was a heel on the same level as bill lambeer

I mean shit he got starks ejected from the Eastern conference finals like twice

Also he was amazingly clutch
Well put it this way Reggie is in the hof
Klay will never be
>>
>>66124142
the biggest fucking joke job of all time. It literally killed my love for basketball and still hasn't fully recovered
>>
>>66130724
I get that he was really clutch and a real imposing personality on the court, but from a skills standpoint he wasn't any better than Klay.

Heart and mental toughness will only take you so far.
>>
>>66124142
>>66130997
T Mac literally didn't play all that season and was coming off an injury
the fact he was even on the roster was an attempt at doing him a favor and giving him a ring

what they should've done was get someone who could play and wasn't old as shit and on his last season and maybe Ray Allen would've missed the shot
>>
>>66106613
Bumping for NBA

Also voting for Barkley
>>
>>66135367
But your original point is still wrong
He is better than Klay because he was super imposing on defence and came up with a sizeable number of steals
1.5 pg in his best season

He's also one of I believe six members of the 50-40-90 club
