The chase system? Tossed in the trash where it belongs.

Point system? That goes in the trash as well.

Both are to be replaced by a total time driven system. Each driver will be timed throughout every race of the season, and the season champ is the driver found to have the lowest total time over the entire season.

Drivers that crash out will receive a time equal to the time of the last driver of the race, plus an additional second added based on the order that they crashed out, so if 4 cars crash out, the first car to crash gets the last drivers time plus 4 seconds, and the last car to crash gets the last drivers time plus 1 second. Drivers that can't race due to injury will be scored as the last driver of every race, behind all the crash outs, until they recover.

A victory champ will be recognized every year. This is the driver that achieves the most victories, and in case of a tie, will be the driver with the most victories with the fastest time. A dominant driver might be able to actually sweep the series as season champ AND victory champ.

Rookie of the year will be scored the same way, and while unlikely, a chosen one may actually appear to sweep the entire season as season champ, victory champ, and rookie of the year.

how would this achieve results any different from a points system?
>>
>each driver will be timed
Nah.
>>
Why don't you just watch real motorsport without all the WWE stuff? I mean, we are going to have WEC soon enough.

lol horrible

Because time more accurately reflects driver performance than do points. As it stands now, you could get a point for being either .0000001 second behind another driver, or 2 LAPS behind a driver, and that's just silly.

I enjoy a variety of racing, not just NASCAR.

And who said Formula Mercedes is real motorsport without all the WWE stuff?

>just pissed off that there aren't any tranny drivers

So if the overall leader crashes in a race, the partner of the second overall driver can deliberately finish last with a ridiculously slow time to ruin the overall leader's entire season?

Obvious attempts to cheat like that wouldn't be too hard to spot, and would be dealt with accordingly.

4-5 lowest times get dropped?
>>
No. NASCAR isn't about racing the clock, it's about racing the other drivers.
>>

>it's about racing the other drivers.

...to the finish line...the fastest.

Are you sure you understand what you are watching, anon?
>>
>>66087785
Yes, the entire race is about racing the other drivers, battling for positions. They're oval tracks. You're not spending 99% of the lap getting in position for the next apex.

>the entire race is about racing the other drivers

....to the finish line....first.....which means the fastest.....which means in the least time possible.

Strange concept for you, apparently.

Meaning other drivers may cause accidents, which cause cautions, which bunch the field up and eliminate intervals at the end of a race.
