I played in a boys' netball team when I was about 16 for school as a laff, thinking we'd miss a few days of school if we made it into the regionals, we ended up making it to state level, none of us ever having played the game before
We used to train against the girls' team who actually had serious players in it and it felt like being in the Harlem Globetrotters, no joke
