10/11 and 14/15 were his best seasons. It was the perfect combination of scoring, playmaking, trophies and legendary moments that we'll see replayed 30 years from now (that slalom run at the Bernabeu, putting Boateng on skates, that Bilbao run).

Players have progressively gotten much better over time. All players get much better training and there is so many more players to choose from. If Pele were to play right now, he would be good but no one would even consider him one of the best (probably comparable to Hulk's level).
