This WC should've been the GOAT, but absolutely everything went wrong.
Just look at the teams:

And this was the main cause, those groups were awful. Plus Korea cheating.
The Korea refball was the most obvious one in football history, a true disgrace.

Argentina and France really brought it on themselves though. You could argue that the penalty on the England match was refball in Argentina's case, but the main thing is that the two most stacked and hyped NTs of that WC struggled a lot to score (France didn't even score at all)
