Would football be more fun if big transfers weren't allowed?

What would >your team look like without gorillion transfer deals?
>>
>>65075994
Define "big transfer"

About half of the players you posted are not originally from Ajax
>>
>>65076140

Ajax are so beta they can't develop their own players they just buy 19 year olds from other dutch or scandinavian sides.

>Ajax fans daydreaming about holding their ex-players hostage and forcing them to play for the club against their will

Has Dutch football really gone that far downhill? Is everything OK Holland?
>>
>>65076216
Well we can't compete with clubs funded with Russian blood money or ISIS funds, if that's what you mean.
>>
>>65075994
>What would >your team look like without gorillion transfer deals?

Depends on how you define "big transfers", here's what the foreign team I follow because I'm a plastic fan would look like without any transfers over 20 million pounds:

-------------------Lloris---------------
Walker-Alderweireld-Vertonghen-Rose
------------------Dier------------------
----------Modric-------Eriksen------
----Lennon-------Kane-------Bale------
>>
>>65076249
You can't even compete with Belgian and Swiss clubs at the moment. Dutch football is Poland/Turkey tier. I don't think money is your problem m8.
>>
Can I pay players as much as I want? then nothing would change.
If I can't, football would be worse because teams would hoard talents and loan them to shit teams: imagine Chelsea but 10-15 clubs doing it.
>>
>>65076249
When you treat your players like shit, no wonder they fuck off to bigger leagues rather than playing clubs like Nijmegen, ADO Den Hag and other shit holes
>>
>>65076281
How is it not a problem? If >we could afford to splash 80M on some 19 year old kid, I'm pretty sure we'd faring a lot better internationally than we are now.

I'll admit that youth development, especially at Ajax, has been... less than optimal for some time now though. Focussing way too much on >philosophy instead of getting results.
>>
>>65076331
Those places are definitely shitholes, but how exactly do we treat players worse than clubs abroad do?
>>
>>65076351
Take Boilesen as an example. Genoa were ready to buy him and he then refused to sign a new contract with Ajax last summer. Transfer went south and Boilesen, captain at the time, was degraded to the second team and wasn't allowed to even eat breakfast with the first team. Afterwards he has been pictured as a greedy bastard, when this is not the case. He wanted to play football in a new league and Genoa offered to buy him. As far as I know, Genoa aren't funded by neither Russian blood money nor ISIS funds, so his move wasn't because of the money, but because of the chance of playing in a bigger league at a higher level
>>
>>65076402
Missing in this story:
>Why did the transfer of Boilesen go south?
>Was his handing in a transfer request the only reason of upsetting the club?
>How did he behave when his transfer fell through?

It's easy to pick a side in this story, but there could be a damn good reason why he was put aside like that.
>>
>>65076402
No, this is wrong on several points. Boilesen was told 3 years in advance that if he wouldn't sign a new contract, he wouldn't be allowed to play in his final contract year. With Ajax' reasoning being that he wouldn't contribute to the development of the team and they wouldn't get any return on investment on having sunk time and money in training and developing him, if he would just walk out when his contracted ends.

Cue the final year of his contract, he wants to leave, but refuses a transfer to Genoa due to salary demands, Ajax then offers him a contract at the club's salary cap, which he also refuses. All the while he's been complete shit the entire season.

You can critique Ajax' position, but I think it's justified if you look at the number of times Ajax has been fucked on transfer deals way below market value. Truth of the matter is, Boilesen knew 3 years ahead of time what would happen if he wouldn't sign a new contract and he still choose to take the gamble, completely his own fault if you ask me.
>>
>>65076257
i'll take you to the lane one day senpai, incredible atmosphere especially this season
>>
>>65076257
Wonder what City or Man U would look like if they didn't get to make big transfers. Guessing City would be down in League 1 or something
>>
Dinamo Zagreb would be one of the Europe giants 2bh
>>
>>65075994
>hurrdurr football would be more fun if players were slaves and weren't ever allowed to pursue better career opportunities
fuck off
>>
>My less-rich club would be doing better if I could force players to accept contract where they play for peanuts
>>
>>65076249
Your schoolkids couldn't even beat Rapid in the CL quali, maybe you should stop shooting yourself in the foot by fielding a starting XI with an average age of 22.
>>

Most of these players were a product of other academies. Ajax buys talent from small Dutch/Belgian teams, EPL/Madrid buy talent from Ajax. It's the same shit.

I used to like Ajax as a club but I'm starting to fucking hate their fanbase with their self righteous, holier than thou "money is bad" attitude

Would be good, would also dilute the quality of almost any relevant league though.Like, in the EPL, City, United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Spurs would obviously hoover up all the best British talent, where does that leave the rest of the league? Are there even 30 British players good enough to start for those teams? You'd be getting League One standard players in the teams at the bottom of the PL.I'm not trolling, it's not like "Hurr, all British players are shit kek", I'm just using them as an example, could apply it to almost any nation.

Also, could be wrong but I think EU law might prevent it from happening.

Cesc played as a false striker during parts of his time with Barcelona and Spain.

Sergi struck good form spelling an injured Alves at right back earlier this season, such that he's worked his way into the rotation for midfield and winger/fullback spots.

The MLB is a free market and they have more parity than any other sport in the US

Adding to what everyone already said: Cesc is a pretty lethal striker when he has the chance:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjXo9pOY1G0

5:11 to 6:05
6:42 to 7:01
8:03 to 8:25
11:18 to 12:00
13:55 to 14:15

It was either that or Tello-Messi-Pedro or Pedro-Bojan Krkic-Messi. You tell me.
>>
>>65080099

Yes I'm aware, thats why I clearly stated that we'll never have it. I'm glad you got to post and make yourself feel good for understanding the issue though.
>>
>>65080038
Probably because he's actually really shit
>>
>>65079982
False striker or false 9 isn't the same as a striker, and messi also played that role usually with guardiola and tito better than cesc. Not saying he is bad at that role, only that he is better used on the xavi/iniesta role.
>>65079853
You can add to that line up:

Rafinha
Thiago
Tello
Deulofeu
Adama
Bojan
Icardi
Jonathan Soriano
Nolito
Arteta
Reina
and i'm sure I left a lot behind...

This thread is retarded, how big a transfer is is relative to the club.
