There will be no playoffs for NY. Not this year. Given their guaranteed, long term contracts, and lack of future draft picks, this team is in for a long, painful next 5 years...at least. He's being used wrong, but that's besides the point because his value has fallen from what the Rangers paid for him. His half cap hit contract is still attractive to teams, especially at the deadline with so many teams close to the cap, especially if the team trading or him thinks they can re-sign him.
The trade will end up being Yandle and a 2nd for an established (re NHL ready) scoring prospect, and the Rangers will probably have to include someone like Kreider and take back a somewhat shitty contract of a decent established NHLer who can't score.
Team will get shook up no doubt if they keep losing and blowing leads. There are a lot of guys on the team AV doesn't seem to care for anymore. They could dump Hayes too.

Kreider stays unless a good player comes back, he is a fast skater, strong, can hit, and doesn't make much money. Rangers will not take on any contract. IT is the opposite of what they need to do.
